Excellent licorice.
Licorice lovers have widely varying requirements for what tastes good to them. So reading a review you have to hope your tastes line up with theirs, because it's quite the eclectic selection what candy makers produce under the name 'licorice'.Me? I prefer licorice to be black, 'sweet' (not salty) and definitely not fruit flavored. It has to taste real too. The texture should be soft, but not too soft. No sticking to my teeth. It should be chewy, making satisfying contact with my molars. It can even be a bit clingy, but should easily come free when maneuvered around. After swallowing there should be a lovely bloom of licorice/anise aftertaste, making me crave another bite.Fazer's Lakritsi Soft & Original is _very_ good. It's in perfect bite size pieces, has just the right amount of sweetness and has an interesting hint of buttery brown sugar to its aftertaste. I'd rate it a close second to Halva's Lakumatto Lakristmatta (my fav), but I'm very happy noshing on the Fazer Lakristi licorice. I noticed it comes with a milk chocolate coating option. Already ordered. (I'm hoping it'll be close to tasting like my all time favorite candy, Lakrits, that l sadly can't get anymore.)I purchased from the Finnish seller Soposopo. They were lightning swift getting my order in the mail, and while it took a bit to travel from Finland to the USA, the box came quicker than expected and the licorice was excellently packaged to arrive safe and sound.

Well made and very fresh
Well made and very fresh., but I like the scotty dog licorice better. Black licorice is truly a personal preference.

Best one out there! Perfection!
This is at the very top of the list of authentic, soft, black licorices! The best in flavor, consistency, and ingredients.I have ordered them all, and this is how I stack all of the highest quality black licorices out there:1. Fazer Lakritsi Original (perfection)2. Finnish Sweet Licorice Lakumatto (almost perfection--actually could probably tie with Fazer)3. Kookaburra Liquorice (very, very good)4. Darrell Lea Original Black (great)5. RJ's New Zealand Licorice (average)6. Lakrids by Johan Bülow (hard, plastic/rubber consistency)7. Wiley Wallaby Australian Gourmet (cheap crap)8. Panda All Natural (really cheap, gross plastic crap)

Over Priced Delicious Licorice
Great licorice, but so disappointed in the puny three bags I got for $37. Way over priced!

Really good!
Sooo soft! OMG it's even softer than the Australian licorice but also dryer so not leaving a mess on your fingers. Really really good!

FAR too much sugar/glucose syrup.
I should have read more about it and I would have NOT purchased it. FAR FAR too much sugar and glucose syrup which is just another way of saying sugar. And sure enough, the statement that glucose syrup contains four times the sugar and calories found in regular sugar was footnoted and linked to the USDA’s food and nutrient database, the gold standard for nutrient data. Can't return it so I guess it will end up in the land fill.

average licorice at higher price
was hoping for a lovely chew of licorice, this was too soft and rubbery in texture and lacked depth of flavor.also was quite expensive at $10 for a small bag of average licorice.
