Q: How many watts is it?

I don't know the wattage. Overall, I am not impressed with the unit. I have a 65 pound terrier mix so not German Shepherd size nails but not small either. The unit is slow and I find after 1.5 paws, I have to plug it back in to charge. I wouldn't buy again. Hope that helps

Q: Do you have to replace the nail grinder/filer and if so, where do you get replacement heads?

Used 7-8 times on Great Dane monster thick nails and now need a new grinder head. I don't see where this company sells a replacement. Will try one that looks same from different company.

Q: So it is rommended for cats?

My cat will hold still for this better than with a regular clipper.

Q: Does it work on very thick nails. I have a Heeler whose nail actually bend the regular nail clipper blade.

Actually after the first time I used it. On my Springer spaniel it lost its charge and will not hold a charge or work at all. Would not recommend this
