Great for adding calcium chloride!
I needed to add 40 pounds of calcium chloride to increases hardness and this year I followed Orenda's advice of using an ounce of Sc-1000 in every 5 gallon bucket to help dissolve the calcium chloride and keep it from precipitating out. It worked great and allowed me to completely dissolve several pounds of calcium chloride in each bucket in half the time as I was able to add half as much last year. And last year I could see undissolved calcium chloride in the bottom of every bucket whereas this yea rit was completely dissolved! It took me about 13 buckets so about 3 pounds per bucket without letting it get too hot. I plan to ALWAYS use SC-1000 in the future.

It works.
I live in the Phoenix metro where the water is incredibly full of minerals. This stuff works well. Just follow the instructions. I wouldn’t use a big dose during the summer, because it will totally wipe out the chlorine and you’ll end up with a lot of algae. After my last drain-and-refill, I began adding it weekly during the winter and then when the water temp rose enough, the chemicals began to work without messing with my chlorine levels.

Works as advertised!
Definitely drops the chlorine level, which I was hoping for. Very clear pool.

Works for Calcium Oversaturation
Calcium fell out of solution my first year maintaining pool water in a large Intex pool after i added too much soda ash too quickly. SC-1000 corrected the problem within 24 hours. Follow the instructions and be aware, if it's used initially during the pool season, your pool will not hold chlorine for about a week. Next year, I will use this with the first fill. Even though I never added weekly maintenance doses, the pool never clouded again from calcium over saturation. I did still get mustard algae late in the season.

Don’t waste your money
Directions are very easy to follow. Unfortunately 2 weeks after, there is no visible difference. I even brushed the areas every other day with a stiff nylon brush. $30 isn’t a killer but it is with no results. Don’t waste your money!

What a Blessing!
We built our pool a year ago. Our pool guy was having a hard time balancing the chemicals. Finally, it hit us. We had a small leak that turned into a big one throughout the year. We had no idea until we got a notification from the water company saying the water had been running for over 24 hours. Over the last 6 months, the calcium buildup started and it wouldn’t get any better with brushing. Our pool guy suggested this product and it has worked wonders. It took a bit to start seeing and feeling the results but it has definitely been a lifesaver! As the water heats up throughout this early summer, 80 degrees and up, our pool walls have started to become smooth again!

Great for pool maintenance
I continue to buy this product as it cleans and maintains my filter and removes calcium build up on my black slate fountain.

Important for my Pool
This product seems to do what it is intended to do. Sure, it removes all free chlorine but it also suspends scale and metal. I have a problem with very hard water and until I can soften it somehow I like to protect my pipes (and tile) by using this solution to keep scale suspended. It will not reduce the pool's total alkalinity but it keeps the hardness suspended so it doesn't clog up your pipes. I observed this when the scale on the tile under the coping started to loosen after my second treatment. I think the container recommends adding monthly but I do it quarterly because it is so expensive. About an hour after adding this solution I had to add a gallon or so of Chlorine to get the free chlorine back in line.
