Il libro è arrivato con perfetta puntualità e ben imballato, maneggevole e leggero, rapporto qualità-prezzo molto buono.Dopo avere letto dei commenti in cui viene consigliato per rispolverare l'inglese o allenenarsi ecc volgo l'occasione per fare una precisazione sul suo contenuto: senza dubbio è molto utile leggere un libro in lingua originale e ciò può essere facilitato dal fatto che la trama sia nota e non sia troppo complicata; tuttavia, come qualsiasi contenuto in lingua originale, contiene numerosi idiomi, phrasal verbs e numerose parole che anche una persona con un livello di inglese avanzato probabilmente non conosce.

I bought this book for my great grand daughters, because it is one of my best loved stories. The first I heard of this book was when I was in the 5th grade, I am now 81 years old. My teacher would read a chapter a day to us in the afternoon. Years later when it was on TV, I couldn't get enough of it. Thankfully, my 2 little great grand daughters, ages 6-9, both love to read and they really love the classics. It is my goal to help build a great classic library for them.

Bonjour,C'est livre n'est pas sans rappeler les histoires de la Comtesse de Ségur (un peu moraliste). L'histoire n'a rien de réaliste, c'est un conte de fée et on se croirait dans un rêve. Parfois cela fait du bien de faire une pause dans la littérature et de lire ce genre d'histoires.Même si ce livre est plutôt destiné aux enfants, il m'a permis de me replonger dans les livres écrits en anglais, chose que je croyais impossible après plusieurs années sans lire l'anglais ; je me suis aperçue que finalement on ne n'oublie pas tant que ça.Ecrit dans un anglais assez simple, il peut être une première étape avant d'aborder des livres plus compliqués.A lire sans complexe !

Oh yes, you may laugh at the title of this review, or snigger or deridebut The Secret Garden is an amazing book. It is a model of construction and language, character (both of children and adults), behaviour, suspense and humour. Of course, it is about a time which, although just 100 years ago, is as far from us today as the Grecian Wars. But the author gives us a picture of a time without computers and mobile phones when a garden was a place to be simply enjoyed not forgotten in a rush for something ever more popular and a time when being active was a way of life. As you may gather I enjoy this book every time I read it and although it was meant for children of that time, it reverberates for modern day adults too.
