This piece is 100% hand made with real joined Spruce & Poplar. The shelf is a full 2 inches deep for large, thick cookbooks - it holds paperback, small, and medium sized cookbooks equally well. It is hand distressed and stained in Walnut brown, then top coated with a premium environmentally friendly waterborne finish (please note that due to natural variations in wood, the final stain color may vary slightly from the unit pictured).
