I bought this book hoping for a refresher becuase I haven't dived in 10-11 years. There was hardly any actual information about diving. It was mostly what to look for in a diving training program.

The book title really has nothing to do with info in book.
The book title really has nothing to do with info in book. It is not about scuba Fundamentals, it is about what things to expect when you take a scuba class.

Informative and entertaining read for new or potential divers!
I wish this book had been available when I began to dive!! Anyone who is thinking of becoming a diver should have a read and enjoy the stories of those who came before you!! He describes every facet of learning to dive and covers things you may not hear anywhere else. Especially so, if you decide to do a resort course, and of course explains and emphasizes the importance of DAN, which when I began diving had never heard of. Scuba Fundamentals is the book to add to any diving library!

Very enjoyable read
This book was very informative and easy read. I was expecting a little more technical but it did provide a lot of very good information for the beginning diver. I liked the authors writing style which kept my interest.

Like a friendly expert
When undertaking something new, it pays to consult a friend who can dispense the right amount of expert advice. That’s this book. It’s just what you need if you’re about to start scuba and it will save you 20-100 times it’s price. It may even save your life.

A must read for new and wanna-be divers.
So much practical information, relevant. I was certified 20 years ago and recently attended a local, less than satisfactory basic dive class. Pridmore's book explains, in easy terms, every question I could have. This is an exciting read for anyone who has ever toyed with the idea of diving. Also, those who want to sit on the beach wondering what all those people do when the disappear beneath the surface. 10 stars really!!

Great Informational book
Great book for someone who knows nothing about SCUBA. Easy to understand and lots of practical tips.

Excellent for beginners
And I'm sure some more seasoned divers could learn or re-learn a few things. If you're just learning to dive, this would be a great addition to your official training guide, and it's certainly a more entertaining read. I recommend all of Simon's books. They're also a good value on Kindle, and you can search easily for topics again when you need them.

Perfect complement to beginner training
I’ve just qualified as a Scuba Diver and am now planning on upgrading my certification to Open Water. This book was ideal for understanding the training in more detail and preparing for what’s next.Being on the verge of thinking if I get into this I might need to buy everything, and being so perplexed by the kit that I don’t feel equipped to buy anything, the chapter on what you actually need to buy to begin with was ideal. The other section I really enjoyed was ‘Your first 20 dives’, which clearly explains what you should and shouldn’t plan on doing as a newly qualified diver.Peppered with lots of interesting and amusing stories, this book is an enjoyable and informative read for any new or aspiring diver. Highly recommended.

Worth reading it at the start of your diving path
A very good reading for when you are considering joining your first SCUBA course, when you are attending the course, or when after you completed the course you are within your first 20 to 30 dives.
