Thank You Camellia

As American Idol represents some of the worst that American culture has to offer, it's not often that anything decent comes of it. That's why Kris Allen's latest album Thank You Camellia is a pleasant surprise. Kris continues to explore his themes of blue-eyed soul and acoustic funkiness that we'd first heard from his self-released Brand New Shoes, but now takes it to the next level with professional polish and cleaner song structure. I think that anyone who was hooked by Kris's Kanye West cover "Heartless" will enjoy this album. My Weakness, Monster, Better With You, and Rooftops should be on repeat in everyone's car during rush hour.

I purchased this when it first came out and have enjoyed listening to it ever since. Although there are a few songs that don't appeal to me especially (the slower ballads, which don't quite connect with me in the same way as his "Falling Slowly" and other Idol ballads did), I appreciate the talent. Most of the songs are ones I enjoy listening to over and over, they bring a smile to my face, ease the frustration of a long commute, and pleasantly run though my head after I'm done listening. Some of them have really sweet messages, too. If you were a fan of Kris Allen on Idol and/or enjoyed his first album, I suggest that you purchase this one. I'm happy to continue supporting Kris' music career, especially when he produces such quality work.

Cigarettes have warning labels. Even some alcohol products have them. On your 1st listen of this Kris Allen CD you like it. On the 2nd or 3rd listen you are fully enjoying it and know you will be coming back for more. After about the 4th or 5th listen you are full on ADDICTED! Seriously, it's an assault to the other music on my I-Pod. I can't stop listening and jones for it when I'm not able to listen to it. It's a good thing that there is no reason to go cold turkey and stop. The hooks, tempos and lyrics are actually good for you. I loved his first CD and this one is even better. If this is the trend, I'd like to pre-order his next CD right now please! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

Kris has certainly come into his own on this second LP. It's every bit as cute and sincere as he is.Better With You, My Weakness, and Blindfolded are upbeat tracks that you will hit repeat on over and over. They're the kind of songs that get stuck in your head instantly.Another track that shines is Loves Me Not feat. Meiko. It's the kind of song that you can imagine hearing as you are waking up on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. It's a quirky and light song that will put you in a great mood. Ultimately, it concludes with the realization that..."she loves me not," but the song is so sweet you'd still be smiling regardless of the conclusion. :)If you liked the his last album you will love this one as well. One thing that stood out for me about his previous album was that there were a few tracks that sounded slightly similar to eachother. On this album, each song definitely has it's own identity.Brilliant work, Kris!!

This album is absolutely fantastic! Perfect summer album! Lots of poppy upbeat songs that make ya wanna roll your windows down and jam! Kris's voice is outstanding! Smooth as butter! The songs are just so fun! Its hard to pick a favorite song cuz theyre all so good! But Id say my favorites are Monster, Rooftops, and Teach Me How Love Goes. Of course Better with You, My Weakness, and Out Alive are also outstanding! Oh and Loves Me Not might be the cutest song Ive ever heard! So be one of the cool kids this summer and GET THIS ALBUM!! You wont regret it!

Wow, I bought Kris' 1st CD & it was okay, but this Cd is wonderful! I especially like Track # 7, Teach Me How Love Goes. Kris' voice is amazing. The music combined w/his voice are a perfect blend. Also, I don't have to look up the lyrics because I can understand almost every word he sings. I was really impressed to see that Kris Co-wrote all the tracks on this album. Great job Kris. You did it this time!

Kris Allen's latest, "Thank You Camellia," is a another amazing compilation of true talent. The songs are so diverse with thoughtful lyrics. The CD is upbeat and entertaining. Once again, I can hear at least five singles that should be played on the radio. I was confounded why more from his first album were not flooding the radio waves. This is my type of music from a seriously talented artist with an amazing voice and style. I purchased the Deluxe edition with the additional two songs (love them) and the remix (did not care for the remix). Not sure which is my favorite, yet, but I am leaning toward "Better with You," "My Weakness," "Blind Folded," and "Loves Me Not."

There is not one song on this awesome CD by Kris Allen that I would skip over. Kris always sings with so much emotion and his songs are inspired by things either he has gone through or other's experiences. I bought this when it first came out in May 2012 and constantly listen to it every day. I am so excited about his new CD that should be coming out later in 2014. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD and also go to one of his live shows. They are so much fun!

タイトル通りです。俺、アメリカンアイドル出身のアーティストに興味があってクリスのアルバムはデビュー作から聞いています。デビューアルバムからにして言えることなのですが、クリスの音楽はシンプルな感じな反面地味な感じが否めません。ここで一つ断っておきたいのが、上記に挙げた文はクリスを貶している訳ではありません。このシンプルな感じの音楽性は、どなたでも難なく聞けると思います。さて、このアルバムに対しての俺の見方ですが音楽性はデビュー作とさほど変わりはないですが、デビュー作よりも聞きやすいと思います。というか進化してますね。俺もこのアルバムは良いと思います。しかし、何だか皮肉だなと思うのがクリス自体アメリカン・アイドルの優勝者なのにおかぶを準優勝者のアダムに奪われていることです。いやね、別にアダムと比較する気はないのですが、アルバムのセールスはアダムの方が良いらしいです（【GLEE】にも出演しましたからね）。けどね、アダムにおかぶを奪われても地道に自分流のアルバムを出すクリスは今後も応援したいです。そういえば何やら新作だしたみたいですね。機会があれば聞いてみたいと思います。

アメリカンアイドルでは、毎回安定した実力を見せて勝ち進んでいったクリス。楽しみにしていたデビューアルバムはそれだけに、なんだかがっかりする内容でした。　でも！このセカンドアルバムは、クリスの魅力がたっぷり出てます。この数年間で、アマチュアの歌手がちゃんとしたプロになったっていう感じ。前作は苦しくて喘いでいるような歌声だなという印象すら受けたのだけれど、ようやく肩の力が抜けて、のびのびして、更なるアップグレードを果たしたクリスです。どの曲もさらりと聴けて、後を引く。何度も何度も聴きたくなるし、捨て曲無し。　クリスって、スーパースターにはならないだろうし、他とは一線をひく個性があるわけでもないし、近所の歌のうまいお兄さん的なスタンスはずっと変わらないんだろうな。でも、なぜだか不思議な暖かみや軽さや情熱があるのよね。

とてもポップで明るいアルバム。世間で言われてるほど1stアルバムも嫌いではなかったですが、2ndはよりクリスらしく仕上がっています。派手さはないですが、爽やかで聴きやすくアルバムとしての完成度も高いと思います。1Better With You、3My Weaknessが特にいい！サビがキャッチーで思わず口ずさんでしまう。デュエット曲の10Loves Me Notもいいですねぇ。普段はロックばかりであまりポップな曲は聴かないのですが、よいアルバムでした！
