Chalkboard is well made. The hangars on the top are adjustable for mounting width as they can slide along the frame. The hooks are triangle shaped with a generous sized opening that allowed it to pass the head of a drywall screw without issue. I could level and set the screws, then hang the chalkboard up without having to worry if they were spaced correctly.The chalkboard itself is lightweight but still substantial enough that it doesn't move or wiggle when I write across it.The chalk tray is adjustable and can slide to either side. It tilts at an upward angle towards the board to help keep objects from falling off, and has a small lip on the front edge as well.The chalkboard surface is magnetic and can hold the eraser which itself has a magnet on the handle. Included in the kit are two small magnets which can be used to hold thin papers to the board if needed.Included are two individually wrapped packages of chalk each with a stick of blue, white, red, green, yellow, orange, and violet. The chalk writes nicely on the board but the sticks I used broke in half easily when I gripped them to write. A non-issue honestly, and I blame my rather large hands for this. Each half-piece was sturdy and I could write without trouble.

Recently I starting taking care of a little girl in my home and I wanted to find a sturdy chalkboard that was also magnetic. I wanted to help teach her the ABCs and was looking for a magnetic chalkboard so that I could give her some magnetic letters that she could attach to the board as I would tell her what each letter was. I also wanted a chalkboard so that I could help her learn to draw the letters of the alphabet with the chalk, as well as draw smiley faces, dogs, cats, etc..Personally I feel this chalkboard is priced a little too high, but other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase! This chalkboard by Navy Penguin has a nice, sturdy, heavy aluminum frame and it has smooth rounded edges. It's nice that there is a built in ledge to keep the pieces of chalk on, and the fact that the eraser is also magnetic, should hopefully mean that the eraser will not disappear very easily! I also like the fact that the hooks are movable so that you can adjust the hanging distance.FYI: In case you're interested in purchasing this well made chalkboard, please know that it must be mounted to your wall and does not adhere to a metal surface with magnets. Please also note that in spite of the fact that the description says that this chalkboard set "contains 14 colored crayons," they are not crayons, but instead they are 14 pieces of chalk.A few of the pieces of chalk were slightly cracked, but I was going to crack them in half any how because they were too big for her little hand in their full size form. This chalkboard is the perfect size (24x18 in.), and as long as you remove the protective plastic covering using a razor blade along the seams of the chalkboard, the chalk writes very easily on the board as you can see from my photo for this review. I think this is a great product, but it needs a little tweaking. First of all; as some of the others have said, the plastic film is VERY hard to completely remove. Secondly, the board is only equipped to hang horizontally; there's no tabs for a vertical option. Other than that, I think it's great! The chalk they include wipes away completely with the eraser, & the hard to remove film protects the product in transit well.

Works great for keeping score in my pool room!

Very cute sturdy well made. The chalk is creamy and soft, the eraser has a magnet so you keep it together.I just love this amazing little blackboard. It's great for small spacesGet you one, I'm sure you love it as well.

Love these boards! Got 3 for each of my kids in an attempt to get them better organized and used to making task lists; and surprisingly, they are love the boards as well and use them frequently!!! Would buy again. Not cheaply made and is worth the money

Amazon's review system is great way to figure out before hand, if the product is worth the usual company product hype.There will be fake reviews. Glowing ones from friends, workers and family, and Bad ones from the competition.I live in Hawaii, so I was concerned not only about the sturdiness of this Chalk board, but the Shipping!Will it arrive all bent? NOPE! it arrived perfectly protected! Even the chalk arrived intact!And it was quite sturdy for the low price!Also, I was thinking that a coated metal surface would feel fake. Like I'm writing on an imitation chalk board.I wanted to use REAL chalk, and have the same old school experience. This was important to me, because what dotoday's young business people and manufacturers know about REAL chalkboards. Everybody uses Whiteboards anderasable markers. Besides these new metal, coated things. I imagined writing on a slippery, shiney surface.Well, after hanging it on the wall, I took the chalk, and it had the same drag across the surface as an old time chalk board! Wow! I'm very pleased! I use it for Photographer's to do list, instead of piling up little papers everywhere.There are many workflow phases to being a photographer, with it's deadlines. I can note, and then erase when I finish each process. And it looks Kewel! I recommend this Chalkboard set!
