So this is a five star peice of trash. If your looking to get ripped off please buy this product it wont lift a 5lb weight. Recommend go down to your local hardware store pick up a 500.lb magnet they run about 20 bucks buy some rope and a 3 dollar carabiner get the one that locks. I read a few reviews before purchasing this trash I'm getting a run around trying to return this 5 star trash. So good luck everyone...

For the price this is a good set. Magnet is not super strong, other than that its worth the price.

No attempting to a knot. Just easily attach the Manet to the clip. The included gloves are great. Great product for a great price. My 15 year old son loves it.

I purchased this fishing magnet kit for my grandson who turned twelve. He loved it and couldn’t wait to use it. A terrific gift for older children!

Got this for our son for Christmas and finally tried it out four months later when weather allowed. We dropped it about a dozen times and came up with a few interesting finds before one cast sent the magnet flying off into the river. The knot and clip were fine but, the eye bolt that screws into the magnet itself apparently came loose. For the price, the set is well made and I don't mind paying for a replacement, but consider this a warning to make sure the connection is tight after every few casts. Instead of helping *clean* the local river, we accidentally littered it.

Had to supply my own bucket and replace the gloves right away as they had holes after 4 hours of use. I thought the magnet would be stronger but it really isn’t, you can feel things attach onto the magnet through the rope but they will also come off easily too if you have to pass over a rock or other rugged items in the water. I was pulling pieces of barbwire and pipes out. It was easy to throw, I found it best to step on the very end and throw it without hanging onto the rope. The kids really enjoyed giving it a try as well. I make sure to let the rope sit out and dry before storing away in my bucket.
