To oil or not to oil
This is for the Rapida/Fagor pressure cooker. 3.5 quarts.I've had my pressure cooker at least since 2000. The last time I replaced the gasket it was from a home goods store and I wrote down the store name and that it was 9 inches. Thank goodness for that!Well, it was time again to replace and I bought these knowing they could be hit or miss based upon the reviews. They arrived and were a good fit so I go to test it out with water in the pot. I oiled the gasket, turned on the heat and no pressure buildup. I added more oil to the gasket and the lid rim. Nothing.I was just about to go to bed when I thought try it without the oil. Well it worked.I'm not convinced so I'll try it again in the morning. Hope that's the answer, no oil.Update 1. I've used the gasket two times without rubbing oil on it and it works fine. I'm actually very happy I don't need to do this step anymore as I did with my previous ones.Update 2. No oil is not working now.

Gaskets work great!
I love my pressure cooker and didn't want to buy a new one since my old gaskets were leaking steam and causing moisture to drip out. I ordered these and they fit perfect. It saved me from replacing my pressure cooker. Very happy with this product.

Simply won't seal
Measured very carefully before ordering, and picked these because they were also quite clear about the size of lid they fit. They do in fact fit neatly in the lid and are almost the exact diameter of my original Fagor lid, if a tiny bit smaller. However they are a thinner/flimsier rubber (which may be partly due to the age of the old gasket making it feel stiffer), and they are shorter - meaning top to bottom thickness of the whole gasket (not just the rubber) is significantly less than the original. When I close the lid, it's smooth as butter - no resistance at all. That's not good. Pressure up, and they quickly seal.. but as it gets close to working pressure, steam leaks past the gasket on 3 sides - where the safety blowout is, on the side opposite, and at the handle. I'm not going to waste time trying to figure out a fix, they are going back.

Seal size match
To tight. Hard to open lid. Almost broke handle

Measure your cooker first
Good quality but unfortunately it was too big and didn’t fit. I should have went with inner diameter measurement instead not outer. Returned it

Rescues an otherwise defunct Wearever pressure cooker
I love my pressure cookers. They cook with high pressure, high thermal capacity steam. Not water. Water soaks the food, dissolving out the nutrients. Which then disappear down the drain with the water. Steam imparts energy to the food while retaining all the nutrients and simultaneously hydrating the food. Evenly. Unlike a microwave oven. Which typically dries out the food; heats unevenly and breaks down the cell structure. Steam is surely the most efficient cooking method.Take it from a Mech. Eng. That is why we use steam turbines. For most power generation. Not hot water. Not hot air. High temperature solar and nuclear reactors use pressurized steam too. The most efficient, economical way to convey energy. Including to food. These seals fit my Wearever 6 qt. pressure cooker perfectly. I imagine they would fit most pressure cookers with the same lid dimensions. They hold the steam pressure with minimal leakage. Caveat: from my experience, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Don't just leave the sealing ring in the lid when cleaning up (after everything has cooled down). Remove it, gently. Wash it with soapy water. Rinse. Dry. Then rub a thin coat of Grapeseed Oil (highest boiling pt. edible oil) around the outer surface. Then replace the ring in the lid. (The oil lubricates the ring, preventing it from sticking to the pressure cooker surfaces; especially when twisting the lid to disengage it, after cooking done).Enjoy the flavor and speed of steam cooking.

I thought I measured carefully but....
It ended up being too large, and doesn't completely seal. Probably my fault. Measure twice and cut once... Measure 8 times and order once...

fits
It fits well. rub a bit of oil on the gasket before you close the lid will assist in opening it after cooking.

Improper gaskets
The gaskets fit the Fagor pressure cooker lid in terms of diameter, but none of the two gaskets form a proper seal as steam leaks from various locations around the lid. Tried same size seal from another supplier and it worked a treat. Since it did not work should really give it zero stars. Was not able to return the gaskets as I was one day outside the return period.
