It is so small than expected and very rough wood material. It was wrapped with a wet newspaper that clinged to the wood, it took so hard for me to remove the paper from the wood. It looked so dirty and used. Very disappointed. Did not get my moneys worth.

We received this after several months delay presumably because shipping from Thailand is probably like shipping from Antarctica. It just takes a darn long time for those penguins (dolphins I suppose in Thailand's case) to swim the entire length of the Pacific, negotiate with the Panamanian authorities to transit the Canal, then out the Gulf of Mexico and up the Atlantic to Philadelphia.And they are probably tired too.The mortar and pestle look great are light-weight and don't smell like some aboriginal used their saliva to make them (yes my wife bought me a journal that came out of Africa and smelled like that!)It looks good on our kitchen sink where we use it to crush up egg shells.This product looks great, work well and is made well. These are good products that I would recommend to you to buy.(Maybe they use sea-going turtles to send across the seas?)

I like that it’s wooden, very small but works yo make sauce snd grind.

This is ONLY for decoration. Mortar (bowl) is made out of lightweight wood (maybe coconut tree) and has a large pore. When you put liquid, it goes right through the wood and spills out to the bottom of the bowl.I bought this to make Green Papaya salad and didn't use it until a couple of months later and that is when I discovered the leakage and how bad this product is. I CANNOT even return. TOTAL GARBAGE !!!

Durable. It's extremely smaller than what it looks like for the cost.

Smaller than I expected, pulse is expensive. I would not buy again. Came without pestle.
