This does exactly what it says it’ll do: it breaks down food/grease/soap scum/hair etc. quite quickly. I’ve used this both in kitchen & bathroom sink drains as well as my tub drain, and I’ve had really good results with it. Our tub drain especially was clogged with lots of soap scum even after snaking it and removing all the hair, and this helped clear it. I let the remover sit overnight and then ran hot water over the drain for a few minutes, and that seemed to clear it all up. Says it’s bleach free and safe for all types of pipes, but the product itself does seem sort of caustic, so wear gloves and try to avoid getting this on any surface besides down the drain. The consistency is that of a thin gel and has no odor. I will definitely continue to use this as opposed to other drain cleaners in the future.

From the reviews, you'd think the only thing that could outperform Green Gobbler would be Harry Potter and his magic wand. Or magic plunger. My downstairs toilet has always been a bit sluggish, but a few weeks ago it clogged so badly that it was unusable for several days. Luckily, I have two other full bathrooms upstairs, so it's not like I needed a bucket and a hose in the meantime. I tried EVERYTHING. Multiple applications of dish soap, vinegar and baking soda, following up with a bucket of hot tap water, endless plunging, to no avail. I always thought drain cleaners were only safe to use on sinks and tubs, so I didn't try Drano or Liquid Plumber. A landlord friend offered to come over with a snake, but he couldn't show up for another four or five days and suggested looking for something on Amazon that might do the trick, which is how I discovered Green Gobbler. First of all, when I poured in about 1/4 of the jug, it came out with clear liquid and some white blobs. I left it for a couple of hours, tried flushing with hot tap water, no joy. Next, I shook the jug just to be sure the contents weren't supposed to be separated like the way they came out the first time, poured in another 1/4, and left it overnight. Flushed it in the morning, still clogged. So I poured in yet another 1/4, left if for several hours, and flushed with hot water while plunging madly. Ta da! Finally! Turned the water back on and to date, it's flushing normally. Since I never used any other drain cleaner, like my old standby, Liquid Plumber, I can't testify that Green Gobbler works any better. However, many other posts state that they tried other brands and they didn't work. I also had to use the plunger pretty vigorously in conjunction with a third treatment with Green Gobbler to finally break up the clog. That said, the toilet is once again running smoothly, and I have 1/4 bottle left in case it clogs up again or I need a cleaner for a sink or tub. I do think it's quite pricey in comparison to other brands, and in future I will opt to try a less expensive brand first. I'm taking one star off for "easy to use" because I couldn't just pour, wait, and flush to eliminate the problem. I'm taking two stars off for "value for money" because I really do think it's overpriced, especially when it didn't do the job all by its lonesome as so many reviews testified.

we have a drain pipe fly issue. This product definitely helps but has not completely gotten rid of the flies. perhaps we have a crack or leak in a pipe which we will have to address but we needed something to help immediately this product works. put in down the drains at night and dont use water until the morning, use for a couple of nights in a row and works really well. i have not used for hair removal only for the little black drain pipe flies

I've been purchasing this to use for my tub and sinks for regular maintenance use, and for the most part, I'm happy with the product itself. However, when they switched to this "new" bottle, they made a BIG error! This bottle is not as good as the original bottle they were using, and because of this, I have to switch to a different brand! Not happy about it! This bottle drips from the cap. You don't see it at first when you use it and put the cap back on. Even though I wipe up the bottle after use, it STILL manages to drip from the cap and gets all over the bottle and onto the floor! This is not acceptable! This is supposed to be "easy to pour" without making a mess. Well, it does the exact opposite, and the original bottle never did this. PLEASE go back to the original bottle. These are probably cheaper, which is why you switched to using it, because everything is about money in this world. So, I don't buy it for one second that this bottle makes things easier to pour without making a mess. It's not true. It's messy, and the cap is horrible. I hope this review is taken seriously, because this product is very important to me.
