can these be used for grilling and would it make sense to do so?

Thanks for your inquiry. Our white oak pizza splits will do a fine job grilling as long as the grill is not very large.. For example, a ceramic grills, Webers and smaller wood fired grills you will get very nice results. You may even want to add some of our chunks on the side of the coals to get an added flavor on your meat. I love white oak with hickory added. they will be fine, they did not pop or spark when I used them

Can you use this type of wood for smoking meat also?

Sure, this White Oak product will give a great aroma, but we’re wondering why you wouldn’t want to use our Carolina Cookwood Smoking Chunks for that purpose. They are larger and are meant for smoking vs. burning. These Pizza Splits are best used for producing a consistent high heat while burning for baking ovens.
