If I’ve understood you correctly, it sticks out. Mine is in a center console power outlet. It is shorter than others I’ve seen. The 2 adapters plug in and I still have clearance in the console. They plug directly (straight) into adapter. Hope this helps

what type of wire fits in the PD 20w slot?

The 20W/30W end is usually/almost always USB C configuration. Recently upgraded to iPhone 13 Pro, USB C on charging end. Hoping this was helpful.
