I have a foster cat who was on the streets until he was captured at 5 years old. He has become quite loving but is still terrified of traditional cat carriers as they must seem to be too much like the trap we caught him in, which makes vet trips really stressful and lately, impossible. I bought this carrier as I thought I could leave it out for him to get used to, as it looks very roomy and non-cage-like. The problem is that it only maintains its shape when all zippers are closed. Therefore it collapses on the ground, even when the side doors and one entry door are zipped. I'm sure this is a great carrier for better-adjusted cats and dogs, but if you're looking for a carrier that an animal can be comfortable sussing out for vet visits, this isn't the right one. I will be returning it, but still give it three stars as the construction is good but it needs to have support bars or better reinforcement to be an easy shape for an animal to explore prior to being fully enclosed.

The bottom needs to be a lot more sturdy, I put a piece of thick cardboard under the insert to be safe but even my ten pound cat makes the base cave in a little bit. I would say excellent quality for the price, though. A competing carrier is pictured and though it is engineered very well, i like the larger entrances to this carrier and the overall large size in general. Very pleased with the product. Unfortunately, my cat is just now getting used to carriers and this is for her first airplane experience so I was hoping she would be able to stand up. She can, just not comfortably.

Bought one each for our two dogs 21 pounds and 18 pounds to ride on 3 hr 45 minute flights with Southwest Airlines. We have used twice and very very pleased. Love that while waiting at gate we could expand them out for a comfortable area. Our dogs need this as they are not tiny. This fits under Southwest middle and window seats. Just tilt slightly sidewise as you slide under then upright. We kept one side unzipped which gave great room and more ventilation. Southwest didn't mind and went maybe 3 inches out, no more than some bags. We use luggage rollers going thru airport and carry on without at plane. Our dogs are bigger but for smaller dogs wouldn't need. Easily could fit two very small dogs in one bag. Like that the top unzips so we can pet them when riding in Uber to and from airports.

I bought this for my 11-lb bichon (for international/airline travel) and LOVE IT!. It's very well made, incredibly spacious even with the sides closed. It' has a side pocket for your pet's documents. My dog can turn around easily in it. When one or both sides are open , the bag looks like a luxurious "mansion" for your little pet with plenty of room. Inside the airplane cabin, I open the side that goes under the seat in front of me and my dog has plenty of space to turn around and sleep whichever way she wants. Don't even look at other more expensive bags. You will love this one.

really quite nice. wish the fold outs had pads too. haven't used it yet but we and my best friend are ready to go. what would really be nice is to be able to fold the cardboard floors on the fold outs inward so that more air could circulate through net sides when not extended.

My 8 year old Mady walked into this carrier as soon as I took it out of the box! And she HATES a carrier. She rode with me 10 hours away, and the 10 hours back with no problem. Locked the bag in with the seat belt. Opened one of the flaps so she could lay across the opening and we got to talk with out the usual panic in the old hard sided carrier. She's only 8 pounds and had more than enough room to lay, stand up, and turn around. Would highly recommend this carrier!

Seller advertises that pet carrier has steel reinforcement but none of that reinforcement is at the bottom where its needed. I have a French Bulldog puppy not weighing more than 10Lbs and bottom sags regardless of how I carry bag and sides dent in when carrying with shoulder strap. All other features are great but I made this purchase relying on the steel reinforcement. would be great if carrier would of had a steel frame all around in order to keep the shape/contour of bag.

When I saw this product online, I was a little skeptical of exactly how sturdy it would be. Well, no need to worry about htat. I have a dog that I take to the hospitals 4 times a month and this is going to be her new travling home! I LOVE how both sides fan out to give the pet more room to look around and be comfortable. Great design! Great concept! Airline approved is a bonus!
