This Knight Rider Scanner Light far exceeded my expectations! Although it has many different lighting patterns, colors, and speeds, I only wanted the traditional "red" from K.I.T.T. that I grew up with in the '80's. Before buying, my biggest concern was having to use the included remote to turn it off and on. I was worried it would forget the setting I liked and make me set it up again and again every time I turned it on. I was happily surprised to discover that once a pattern / color / speed is set with the remote, the scanner remembers that setting even when disconnected from power. I have mine wired to turn on and off with a lighted toggle switch. I don't have to use the remote at all. The LED lights are very bright, and the light strip seems well sealed against water - which I will put to the test when I go to the car wash. The only distractors for me are that the wires from the control box to the light strip were shorter than I would have liked, and the control box was not sealed against moisture. I sealed it myself with a zip lock bag. I definitely recommend this item!

I've had this installed about 2 months now and I'm petty satisfied. Very easy to install. I always leave it on while my car is parked, even for several days at a time. Many colors and lighting patterns. I gave it 4 stars because it sometimes activates with other car alarm remotes.

Easy install--very bright. Lots of modes and customizable. Remote has good distance too. Great Buy! Recommended.

I tried a number of these type of lights and unfortunately this one was one that got returned. The light works just fine, it does bend enough to go along curve of grill if needed. One con was the wiring wasn't as simple as others with just a black and red wire. The main problem for me with this light was how clunky it was, they use older tech so the have to use massive wiring and boxes to achieve the same as others do with no external boxes and very minimal wiring with the same features. I ended up with a light that was more expensive but very little wiring, one black and one red, and a remote, that's it, clean easy install, nothing bulky and an eye sore or things I have to hide, didn't even have to remove any grill or panel to install.

Super easy to install solid connection and control. There are a lot of modes great speed control with remote just looking at it and I can hear a certain title song.

Good concept and item just poor quality. Also the lights power on randomly even after the vehicle is off. Definitely not waterproof.....it leaks after awhile. Has condensation in which a few LEDs change color and stop working PLASTIC IS NOT DURABLE FOR THE SUN, IIT DETERIORATES FAST…Needs stronger plastic for exterior of car

It’s a great light bar, no written instructions but the QR code on the module takes you to all the information you need. We first received a faulty module but it was refunded super quickly, and the replacement was sent out quickly too. Customer service is spot on. Would buy again!

Update: Well this one has failed as well after 4 months. It has started turning on randomly and has turned a rusted red inside. Looking for a better quality. Even the more expensive ones look the same. Do not recommend for outdoor use at all. They are not waterproof and will fail. I am on my 4th one of these. Seems like they start to fail after about 6 months. Ordered another one due to the fact I can't find one that does the patterns I am looking for in this size. This time it must be an upgraded product. The cable that goes to the LEDs is shorter so I had to run the wire a different way which wasn't ideal. It does seem brighter now. Hopefully, the new upgraded one will last longer. Be nice if you could just unplug the LED bar and plug a new one in so you don't have to run the wires when it goes bad. Never had an issue with the control box, just the LED bar.
