LOOKs Good But...
This unit will make you look like you are bringing a high-end, high-tech camera on set, however, as it relates to it's functionality and your very reason for purchasing THIS unit, which is the fact that it includes motorized focus and zoom, it is not worth the money.I bought it because I liked the idea of being able to adjust focus and zoom while having the camera sitting on my shoulder. But the problem I found with the design of this unit is, the buttons that control the focus and zoom motors and not touch sensitive and they have no way of allowing you to gradually adjust focus/zoom. This means that, when you hold the button down, the motor begins spinning at whatever speed it is set to and, unlike typical motorized focus systems, with this unit you have to guess when to release the button and hope that when you do, you have hit your focus or zoom mark.Another reason I purchased this particular unit is, it has 4 programmable rack-focus buttons. In theory, this is FANTASTiC, and EVEN WITH the other issues that I've mentioned, IF this feature worked correctly, it would definitely be worth the cost. The problem is, after setting your rack-focus points and attempting to use them, the motor does NOT adjust back to the exact same spot you programmed it to. Most of the time when I used this feature, my rack-focus was off and the subject was out of focus. As it relates to being a standard shoulder rig, it does the job, thus the reason for the 2 stars instead of 1, however, when buying this unit, you are not buying it because you want a standard rig. You are buying it because you want a motorized rig, and in that area, it fails greatly.
