The Lady in the Tower
I loved reading this book even though it is aimed at young adults the pace is just right to keep you wanting to read. I couldn't put it down and read it in two days. I loved the historical detail but it wasn't bogged down with too much fact which would have made it boring. I liked the fact it was set in a place I am familiar with, Farleigh Castle, but it would have been interesting even if I didn't know it because there was enough detail to set the scene. I enjoyed the character of Eleanor, she was certainly a heroine and would have stood out in her time. Some of the detail was slightly too graphic, boiled heads on spikes, and she seemed a bit too blase with the gruesome death of her father, but maybe that was the Tudor era. Death was all around. However, I'm glad there was a happy ending but I'm sure it will be an interesting marriage! I would highly recommend the book.

A piece of history
Enjoyable light read which gives insight to the period. The lead character's actions are a bit far fetched but makes for exciting reading. Suitable for young teens.

Great teenage historical romance :-)
I've got the other book by this author and really liked the historical setting (not your standard era or place). It was great to read something a bit different and I hoped I'd get the same from this one. I'm very glad to say I wasn't disappointed. The historical setting is a little more common (Tudor) but the romance this time (which was arguably a bit subtle last time) is just fab - seriously good chemisty going on.Teenage girls will just love the fiesty Eleanor - who doesn't want to ride her horse side-saddle like she's supposed because it's silly and uncomfortable - and her adventure, which is partially based on true facts I believe. Highly recommended :-)

fascinating story
i read this book after visiting Farleigh Hungerford castle outside of Bath and hearing the story. i was amazed this isnt more readily known so looked for books on the sbject and came across this fiction book. its very historically accurate, although the ending has been elaborated on but i dont mind as it reallys makes a better ending! Marie-Louise jensen is a great writer and really brings the characters and story to life. its also nice to hear of a story from the Tudor period that isnt abotu Henry VIII or his wives and i loved this book all the more for it.great read for Historical fans and also Tudor fans. it is a romance book underneath but it has enough gripping drama to add depth to the book.

Ok
Quite a good read although rather predictable. Easy holiday reading. You don't need to concentrate too much. This covers it I think

A good unusual story with believable characters. I enjoyed this book immensely, it was a good easy read on Kindle.

Love, Family, Hate
From the moment that I read the blurb, I knew this book was going to be a winner. Although it is set a long time ago, in the Tudor times, it is written in a modern style. The ideas within the book relate very much to modern times, what with a teenage girl who has fallen out with her father and has decisions to make, and romantic troubles. It is based on a real story and I found I related to the main character in the book. I very highly recommend this book.

Possibly good for teenager girls, but...
I purchased this book after reading many positive reviews. However, I was much disappointed. Shallow plot, cartoon characters. Particularly annoying was the fact that the plot and the main heroine were exactly the same as in "Girl in the Mask". Possibly it is a good read for teenager girls, but adult and mature readers need something deeper, more psychological, more sophisticated...
