City G4 Kickbike Scooter - Matte Black

So after some research, I settled on the Kickbike. I chose their City G4 model that has a basket and an upright stance, which works for me. It glides silently and is extremely well built. Putting it together was easy -- all told it took about an hour. As far as the workout goes, it's really fun. You really work up hills and but you to glide down the other side. Today I probably did 8 or 9 miles and while I broke a sweat, it was never jarring like running, for example. And it beats riding a bike b/c you don't have to deal with the seating issues. I ran a few errands with it, and again, it was easy. And fun.

Kickbike America was very fast on shipping. The package arrived and was very well protected. I was surprised though, to find a large" MADE IN CHINA" on the box. I re read the ads and found that while they said it was designed in finland, no where did they say it was manufactured there. The assembly was as easy as it could be inspite of my arthritis. I have built and repaired many bikes in my life so this was easy. In my younger days it would have taken 10 minutes. I have two issues with the bike, which is why 4 stars instead of 5. The first is that the holes in the basket do not align with the holes on the frame. Way off. The other issue was the phony little pump that came with it. After about 5 cycles it fell apart. Once my back and hands stopped barking at me I took it out for a spin. It was much harder to ride than it looks in the videos. I only made it a block and a half and had to turn back, very tired. I wanted to use this bike for errands around town but will have to build up to that. .Problem is that I have advanced copd, 80 lbs overweight and havnt lifted anything heaver than a beer can for years. I hope to change that now. I do recommend the City G4 and would not hesitate to order anything from Kickbike America.

Difficult to balance compared to a regular bicycle.Contacted the seller regarding a return and discovered an UNDISCLOSED 25% restocking fee. Amazon should disclose this kind of fee before purchase.This may be suitable for a sports bike where balance is part of the challenge. However, it is not a "cruising" bike.

My kick bike arrived today--a day ahead of schedule. I am not known for my patience so even though I've never put anything like this together in my life I decided I couldn't wait for someone who had, so with the help of the kickbike website and youtube, I did it. Took about 30 mins, max. I'm a senior female and know nothing about bike mechanics, so that says how simple it was. It will need some fine tuning (I didn't tighten the handle bars well enough so they were slightly skewed after I'd ridden it--need strong person to tighten it, hello hubby). Then I put it in the back of my car--without having to take the wheel off, just folding the seats down. It is not too heavy for me at all and I am a lightweight, walking orthopedic disaster. Again, I am not a patient person and I was so thrilled with the bike that it was very difficult to restrain myself from zooming along for an hour, but I have some pretty bad hip and knee issues and didn't have much choice. I had an absolute BLAST on nice flat ground for about ten minutes, stopping to sit on benches. Then back in the car and home. I had an old scooter when I was a kid--a long time ago now--so I felt like I was 8 years old again (except for the old joints). I hope and pray that I will be able to enjoy this fabulous machine once I build up strength. It IS a serious work. Much more so than a bike, but I think it's so much more fun and it has a very high double-take factor. I got a couple of smiles and one puzzled look. No one around here has them, including the bike shops. Why?And it's Finnish, so extremely cool in my book. Fingers crossed this works for me. It it doesn't, it will be because of my defects and not because the bike isn't fabulous, because it is.

Really great scooter. Good quality construction and everything went together well. No instructions came in the box, so you'll need to know a bit about how bikes work. My wheels were way out of true, so the brakes rub. They rub so much, they cannot be adjusted with the screws. Got to get the wheels into a bike shop before I can ride it.:-(

I like to ride this Kickbike! It is a fun ride!The tires make going up and down small bumps a breeze. The brakes are great. All in all, it really fits the bill.The only con I have is that there are no assembly instructions. I had to use google to find instructions!

It takes more work to push than I thought it would. It's just a skateboard with big wheels but I would recommend it.

Fun for young and old. Ordered this for myself, grandkids thought grandma was crazy. But they found out granny just likes to keep moving. They like it too, had to buy a couple kI'd scooters to ride with me.
