Easy to install
Fit my 2005 tundra. It sits a little crooked (about 3/16ths at the top), but it's working fine. Good price compared to the $200+ I was quoted for an OEM handle. We will see how it holds up over time

easy to install
I installed this tailgate handle on a 2004 Tundra double cab.All you need to do is remove the 8 Torx head screws that attach the plastic liner to your tailgate. It is best to remove the liner with your tailgate down. After the liner is removed you can access the handle by removing the liner and a metal cover.Removal requires unclipping the two clips that hold the rod arms in place (I literally did this by hand)and unscrewing two 10mm bolts that hold the tailgate handle. If you decide to utilize the keyed lock all you need to do is remove the retaining clip that holds the lock in place. After the clip is removed the keyed lock can be lifted out of it's housing and placed into your handle and securing it again with the retaining clip that came with your new tailgate handle.I was reading another review where someone mentioned that not all hardware was received in order to install the lock. There isn't any hardware required everything needed is there so I don't know what he/she was referring to.Reinstallation is simple...just work in reverse. The entire process start to finish took about 10-15 minutes and a YouTube video was NOT required or needed.Overall good product. I'm happy that I can open my tailgate again.

great low cost replacement!
This was a great replacement for my old latch that finally called it quits on my 01 tundra. I can't speak to durability as I just recently installed it however I cannot tell the difference between this latch and my old one. As others have noted, replacement was super easy, including transferring the lock core. I would recommend spraying all the moving parts that remain while everything is exposed such as the lock core and latch bars with some WD-40. This made everything work like new again. I have attached a picture of the replacement next to the old OEM part. Everything that was metal before is metal on the new one too. Although this was significantly cheaper than OEM, I have not noticed any difference in quality.

Best bang for your buck!
Like everyone else here, the tailgate handle on my 05 Tundra Limited Double Cab bit the dust after 15 amazing years together! I started the search online for an OEM handle and was blown away after seeing how much they went for online and at the dealership. After extensive searching on Amazon I landed on this one and I’m glad I did. Only took me about 10 mins to remove the old handle and install the new one with my current locking mechanism. All you need is a T30 Torx bit, 10mm extended length socket, a small flathead screwdriver for removing the lock clip and some white lithium grease to lubricate all moving parts and you’re all set.The quality seems solid and it even included new plastic clips since most people seem to break their old ones during the switch. If there was one con to this handle, it would be the size. It’s maybe a few millimeters too short horizontally but that’s not really a dealbreaker for me.We’ll see how long it takes before this one breaks so when it does I’ll come back and update this review! For the price? How can you beat it!
