Kagero The Russian Cruiser Varyag

Same as for others in the series I reviewed, missing critical info....
As usual, this issue of the Top Drawings series from Kagero has a very good set of line drawings. Perfect for model builders or people who are interested in how a warship is laid out, and the placement of various weapons, equipment and sensors on a given warship. This book covers the Soviet Cold War Slava class cruiser Varyag. As is typical in the series, the line drawings are pretty comprehensive. They have overall profile and plan drawings. Details of various pieces of equipment, ships boats, weapons/turrets etc. Details of the superstructure and various decks. Two separate fold out sheets with plan and profile of the ship in various stages throughout here service. One of the sheets has a color profile and plan view of the ship.Where the drawings fall flat are in regards to the hull lines. They give you the hull line frame sections, but do not reference where they are on the hull profile. This seems to be a common thing with these Top Drawings books of ship, lots of detail, but always missing some critical piece. If you're a modeler and building a kit, you'll be okay with these drawings. If you're looking to scratch-build a large scale or RC hull you'll have to do some real work to even begin to figure out where each hull frame goes along the keel. So, in summary, great drawings, the info and detail in there is great, just missing one critical piece to make these a five start review.
