yes. it will measure your club head speed even when you don't hit a ball.

Q: Is the prgr waterproof?

I sincerely doubt it, but I have both the mevo and the PRGR and I find I use the PRGR alot more just because it's convenient, (not to mention less obtrusive). Yes the mevo tells you alot more info and when paired with your phone can give you video but for in door use it takes up alot of room and for outdoor you'll want to setup your phone with a tripod to get frontal views. The PRGR? Hit the ON button and put it where you are swinging and you are good to go. Want consistent readings on swing speed? PRGR is the way to go.

It doesn't measure launch angles. Only clubhead speed and ball speed are actually measured. The flight distance (both carry and total) is estimated. On the new model HS-130A clubhead speed, ball speed, smash factor (the ball speed divided by the clubhead speed), and flight data (carry or total) are all displayed on the screen. The speed radar is great for overspeed training because you can get speed without hitting a ball.

Best golf aid I have ever used - really motivating and helpful.

Brilliant absolutely upped my game, especially the driver.It’s taken a lot of work over the last two years but my swing speed is now up another 10 mph.In the last few months this product has hugely motivated me and improved my swing and driver distance. I can’t actually see often how far I have hit it, recording over 270 yard drives at the range. It is accurate. Best to date 274 yards and 103 mph swing speed.I am pushing for the 280 yards.I am 59 and I am hitting it further than I have ever done . Thanks to this product hard work at the range and you tube mentoring .
