Better than the 2000 but keep lots of canisters in as they don't last long
This unit replaced my 2000 (which I still have but don't use)The 200 attches to a main gas bottle where this one uses the small portable cans. The smaller cans cost slightly more but this BBQ can be easily packed into the boot of a small car (Ihave a small sports car with a tiny boot) and I can then take this to my parents house or on a road trip.I use this at home for cooked steaks and burgers and they are as tasty as any other BBQ. To be hones, I think they are actually better than the same items on the 2000, which is probably because of the smaller cooking area and hood keeping the smoke closer to the food as it cooks. It gets plenty hot enough and quickly but it does go through canisters fast. Iregularly use the device for burgers and steak, usually no more than two or three at a time, and including warming up time, this will finish a canister in three meals (probably 20 minutes each).I have tried non-weber barbeques and they all rusted or fell apart or blocked, but I have had my 2000 for 13 years and only recently replaced the grill. The burner and rigid pipeworks are still original. This tells of the weber quality. I did have to replace the regulator and the control value by calling weber support. Getting spare parts for the older machine was a bit of a pain but ultimatel they still supplied them. Whilst I was waiting this one came up on an offer in Amazon (prime day I think) and I bought it on impulse. It wasn't a mistake. The 2000 now sits in the shed, waiting for a big summer party. Meanwile the 1000 is better and more versatile and plenty big enough for the day-to-day. I even use it in winter to keep the smells of meat out of the house and it cooks fine even when the outside temperature is near zero. The only things I prefer on the 2000 are the igniter (battery operated and they don't supply this anymore) and the thermometer on the lid.I totally recommend this product.(hint: buy a Weber cover, not a cheap imitation. Weber covers are really good)

Portable bbq that's ready to cook in 10 minutes
Great portable gas bbq for home, holiday house or or camping. Very easy to set up. I used some colman c500 (EN417) gas canisters which work perfectly. Good quality, heavy enamel cooking grill, gives those flame grilled stripes. Plenty of space for 4 burgers and courgette slices. It comes with one tin foil tray which is easily washed so no need to buy a pack of those. I'm a gas fan to be honest, the days of charcoal, zip fire lighters, 30 minute wait and a pile of ash the next morning are long gone. This is so easy.

Best small portable BBQ there is....
Bought the Weber Q1000 for my daughter as a Christmas present, they are caravaners like ourselves and I have had one the same for the last 5 years. These are the best compact portable Gas BBQ on the market, hands down.Great for caravanning, boating, picnics out with the car for a day and just general BBQing at home. They are made from cast Aluminium so will not rust and last a fife time if looked after, I would recommend getting the Weber cover as well to keep on it when not in use, it is easy to fit and remove. The grills are in two pieces and are very heavy duty cast iron, coated in a nonstick finish, they are really easy to clean and using a wire brush after heating the grills for a few minutes before cooking does the trick. The aluminium tray underneath, which has a foil throwaway tray, is very easy to remove. There is a small cage attached to the frame to hold the gas can, really neat feature as being a portable bbq.Honestly, anyone thinking of portable or small bbq, it is very worth spending the extra money on a Weber, in my mind and experience ( as I have a bigger one for home as well) they are the best on the market.

Great for Small gardens & Small Families
Amazing.I have all manner of outdoor cooking equipment, but this little unit has pretty much become to the go to.It's really compact, but don't let that fool you, you can get a pretty large amount of food on the the grate at the same time, certainly enough for your average family.I bought this BBQ as we had our back garden "astro turfed", my health has been on a steady decline and although we have a Weber Kettle BBQ, it is too much effort for me to set up each time, maintain, clean and so on. I did a bit of research, watched videos and even asked in BBQ groups about a BBQ that would fit our needs, mainly that it be easy & quick to start. The moment I started cooking on this I realised it was an amazing piece of kit, it's really easy to control the temperature, I've owned gas BBQ's in the past and I've never had one that is as consistent as this one is. As you can see from the photo, we're able to fit a decent amount of food on it.We ended up using the BBQ into early November because It is so easy to cook on, we managed to enjoy our garden much more in the couple of months since we had it turfed than we did in the entire last couple of years.I've bored people to tears with how much I love this little BBQ.One thing to note, it's intended (or sold) as a portable BBQ, so out of the box it connects to camping gas style cylinders, which are a screw on fitting. All is not lost though, both Weber and Char-Broil sell an adaptor that allows you to connect a regular patio gas cylinder to it, the char-broil one being about half the price of the weber!I actually bought the char-broil one and it's worked perfectly with the BBQ!

Easy to use and clean.
Very easy to use. Would have been nice to put in the box for storage but you can’t once assembled. No storage area for the gas regulator when not in use. Having said all that, it’s a superb barbecue, best used with the lid down.
