I purchased this to hold large, heavy, dictionary-sized books open. This weight works very well, even toward the front an back of a large volume. The plastic of which it's made is "grippy", so it doesn't slip. It even works well placed toward the top or bottom of the book. Highly recommend.

Come on, it's not rocket science, it's a BookBone. Form follows function. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, exactly the way it's supposed to do it. We now own two of them and they are used every day. Of course, this is presuming you read actual physical, printed, bound books. It does not keep electrons in place when using ebooks.

Nice, heavy-weight. It keeps my pages open just the way it was designed to do. Not rocket science but it works.

I had a leather book weight with a felt backing and it was so annoying because I would have to hold the book flat to keep the weight from sliding around. This one doesn't do that and I love it! I would highly recommend that hardback book lovers buy this...you won't regret it.

Best book weight EVER! I use this to hold the pages for crafting (bookfolding) and this works amazing. It grips the page so you don't have to be perfectly flat and although I don't use it to read it can be used one handed to turn pages too. How ingenuous is that? Buy this people, cant beat the price.

These were for my uncle and he is using them. He did say they needed to be a little heavier.
