Even Superheroes Have Bad Days (Superheroes Are Just Like Us)

My 6 yo loves this book and we’ve read it many times. It demonstrates that anyone can have the heavy emotions and feel like losing control, and at the same time we can choose to let our feelings out in ways that don’t hurt, we can use self-control with behavior, and we can do good things to feel better. Positive coping! My son finds the characters and illustrations very alluring and likes to look at the pictures and talk about them. He has big feelings and often assumes the unpleasant ones are bad rather than normal. So it’s just such a great, teaching, entertaining book. It’s perfect. I think it’d be great for kids 4 and up.

This book is as advertised, there are some fun characters and the moral of the story - which is, it's okay to have bad days, but channel your frustration in a positive way, is positive. However, given the way the story is expressed with fun superheroes, I thought they could add a bit more humour. Nice book nonetheless.

Good to teach that's it's ok to have a bad day and how to act when you do.

My 2 year old LOVES this book. She finishes every sentence and asks for it all the time. I love that it’s teaching how to acknowledge and control emotions and I buy it as a gift for every single one of my friends that have kids.

This book has a great lesson. Bought one for my 6 year old and one for his teachers class room. There are some big words but it still gets the point across.

Got this for my 3 year old as we are learning to work through our emotions. Cute book!

Very cute book on controlling your emotions. Great for my boys who love super heros.

My 4 year old son loves this. It’s been great to look at how different the characters look between when they’re calm and when they’re angry. My son has even gone to get it when he’s felt cross and asked me to read it to him and some of the phrases have come in handy as useful reminders for calming down.

Same issue as with the other book in this series, American language, expect to explain a few words if reading to a British child.

A great book about managing big emotions and for understanding that we all have them and that’s ok! We saw it read on CBeebies and so knew it would be a bit at home too.
