Perfect VHS to digital Linux solution
I bought this specifically to make digital copies of personal VHS tapes. When I initially received this item I was disappointed as this was not a easycap dc60 but rather a unnamed generic version with a different chipset. Yes I opened it up to check.However I was pleasantly surprised to find that this device worked perfectly for my needs. I use this item in Linux Mint 18.1 using webcam cheese. I did not install any software that was included with this item as I never intended to. I should note that when recording I do not hear any sound but the sound is recorded and is plainly heard in playback.For reference: The item I received was simply called video capture USB 2.0 video adapter with audio. I got it through Amazon Prime and it has a sticker with a code X001TM1ZS5.

BUYER BEWARE!
The item I received was NOT NEW - There are clear signs of physical damage to the plastic casing, there was no CD included with the package, I am unable to find drivers to make it work. (I'm not a novice, I run an IT Consulting Firm) COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!
