I'm a doctor who has to carry a pen around in his white coat for the occasional written order, jotted phone number, or clinical note. I felt bad always borrowing pens from nurses and midlevels when my own would run out of ink, so I finally decided to upgrade to something. My priorities were something that wouldn't leak into my coat; something distinctive, so someone wouldn't accidentally pick it up thinking it was theirs; something with a clip for the coat pocket; and possibly something attractive, something that conveyed a sense of personal style. I don't write a whole novel at a time so long-term comfort was not a priority. This great looking wood pen checked all the boxes - literally and figuratively. Unexpectedly it's also quite comfortable to write with. It takes standard ballpoint refills, but I've been using the one it shipped with for more than a month and no signs of running out. And I really like the way it looks; in the world of personal pens, the sky is truly the limit when it comes to what you can spend, but I did not find any other pen I liked as well under the $500 price point, and that's saying something. If it disappeared tomorrow I'd buy it again - I'm now the doctor with the cigar pen - and I guess that says it all!
