Amazing, especially at sale price
Out of the Rogue One sets I have (U-Wing, this, and Krennic's Shuttle), this is probably my favorite. The price is amazing, I got it for $50 on Amazon, and when completed, its obvious this thing was fair at its original price, if $70. So if you're on the fence, I would wholeheartedly recommend buying it while its still $50. This thing is a solid build, and is huge. At first I was weary, because I had no idea what this thing did, even after seeing the movie, but apparently, according to Wikipedia, it is an in-atmosphere fighting vehicle, like the equivalent of a jet fighter. Pretty cool. The figures were amazing though, my favorite being the Scarif Sandtrooper, who has a specially molded helmet, a different sort of gun, with the Marvel type gun and binoculars making it up. Theres both printing on the legs and torso. Next is the ground control guy, with batons and everything, and the real only cool thing about him is his helmet. Once again, he has the distressed Stormtrooper head, as every other Stormtrooper does. Then theres the Imperial Pilot, who's a nice addition, since he is (to my knowledge) a new variant of the old one. Finally, there comes the Rebel, who to be honest wasn't really needed. He's practically an Endor trooper in a tan uniform. The ship itself is amazing. I dislike the cockpit seat, which is like the First Order TIE. There is no interlocking parts, and practically no way to keep the minifigure secured in a seat. That being said, the cabin is very long, for a TIE fighter, and has a secondary area, which has a communication device, like a radio set, a gun, and binoculars. This is all pretty well hidden. The wings are gigantic, and there are levers that can switch them from a "down" mode to the mode like the ship is pictured in the box. Overall, this is a great build, and I tdefinitely recommend it.

Great model-with one minor flaw
This is a fun model like most of the LEGO Star Wars models I've put together. I'm really only writing this review to point out that there's an error in the illustration/step of the cockpit. I meant to document this at the time of building it, but I was enjoying building it. I knew something was up the moment I got past the step instructing me to install a piece which left a gap in the design. It's true that at times opposite sides are purposely not symmetrical, but this is not the case. You are instructed to use a flat two-piece when in fact a flat three-piece is required. (I may be misremembering this-but I will be back to correct it if so) In putting it together, you may not realize the error immediately. If you use the piece they tell you to use, you will not be built up correctly for a later piece.I can't see down-rating the model just for this, so I mentioned it in the title of my review. I will update my review later to include the exact information, plus the step which is incorrect.BTW, if you have experience with LEGO models you know that they often come with a small handful of spare pieces. I solved the problem of the wrong piece by using a flat one-piece left-over as a foundation for the gap.

Great for hunting down insurgents
You're probably on this product page because you specifically sought it out, so I shouldn't be able to sway you with a simple product review. You already know about legos and you already know about star wars, so what more information could you possibly need? This is a lego star wars kit. Buy it.I find that the 8-14 years range is misleading. It took me nowhere near that long to build this kit, and I'm 29 years old. The only real difficulty is figuring out how to hold it (it's over a foot long) while also trying to shoot off the laser pieces on my accompanying AT-ST and still making the pew pew noises as I bask in the glorious deaths of the rebel scum who blew up the death star.We didn't get the job done on Scarif, and we lost many a good man that day, but it's not the fault of the TIE Striker. Actual battle footage shows that our air force acfually took the fight to them. It was just the rear guard pogues who dropped the ball.Anyway, buy this kit for your kids, and never forget what happened that day.

This Lego set is great!
I am 12 and I got this Lego set two years ago. And I love it! It’s got a really cool feature where you push up on the levers on the back and the wings move up. My favorite figure in this set is the shore trooper (he’s a captain) I just love the color and the shape of the helmet . The only thing I dislike is the price 70 dollars is too much I think 50 dollars would reasonable. But other than that I give this set five stars out of five.

What a Big TIE!
I like the TIE for its size. For a newbie Lego Star Wars vehicle collector like me, I think the build was easy for an adult, but children will definitely need help. The set comes with four Lego minifigs, but in my pic, the pilot is in the cockpit. I felt I needed to modify the TIE a bit by adding two Kreo "missile turrets" on both tips of the wings to make it look more intimidating. Overall, I am happy owning this TIE because of its size and its connection with Rogue One, which for me was one of the better Star Wars movies.

A great new addition to the Lego Star Wars Universe!
A great set! The ship itself has a great design: very sleek, yet solid, and a great variation of the classic TIE theme. The movable wings lock into place nicely without use of rubber bands (see the new x-wing design). Also, the ship is bigger than you think it would be (much larger than Vader's TIE, for example). Some might find this to be a negative because it's not necessarily the same scale as other TIEs, but to me, it doesn't take away from the design at all. The figures are detailed, especially the pilot, and they were well done. The only thing I would like to see is more mini-figures...especially Shoretroopers.
