Great quality! No damage! As described! I have read past reviews about bent corners and other damage. I would guess they changed their packaging because mine were double boxed with protective cardboard around the matts in the inner box. There was virtually no way mine were going to be damaged.

I am a wildlife and nature photographer that produces and sells fine art prints of my work and as such, I recently purchased 3 separate orders of these mat sets...The first, a pack of 10 16x20 white mats, arrived in pristine condition - they were packed nicely in a purpose made box that prevented them from moving around during shipping while providing more than adequate protection and the mats and backing boards themselves were accurately cut... if that was how ALL of these sets arrived, I would be giving a 5 star rating... however, that was not the case with the two more recent orders of 25 set packs.The first of these two 25 set orders arrived with very slight damage to one corner... the packaging for this larger quantity pack was not as adequate as the previous 10 piece pack... the box lacked the inner protection so there was slight damage to the one corner... presumably caused by mishandling during shipping and thus not the vendor's fault entirely - perhaps if the packing featured the same internal protection measures as the 10 pieces packs, the issue would not arise, and again the rating would be 5 star...However, my most recent order of a pack of 25 sets was most definitely a problem that was entirely the manufacturer's fault... the backing boards and the mats were cut off-square and did not match up perfectly like the previous sets. Unfortunately, the issue wasn't apparent until I got to the 5th or 6th set... I had already assembled several of the sets and mounted prints in them before the issue became noticeable and with each consecutive board, the error became increasing noticeable. Once properly assembled with hinging tape along the top edges, the bottom and one of the side edges did not match up exactly - Ordinarily, this wouldn't be too much of an issue IF I was just using them for the artwork that I produce for display in my own home since I could hide the error inside a frame, but these were used for artwork that I produced for an upcoming art/craft show that I have a vendor slot in (which happens to be tomorrow) and as such, the issue with the boards/mats causes a reduction in the quality of my finished product - If I were framing the prints with these mats/boards then it wouldn't be too big of a deal, but I'm not framing them, these are being sold as matted prints where my clients can choose their own frames - this makes the error noticeable to them and, as a result will more than likely cause me to have to reduce my prices to accommodate an issue that should not be mine to accommodate...Had I noticed immediately instead of half way through mounting several prints - which obviously cannot be unmounted without causing damage to the prints, and had there been enough time to return these for replacement, then I likely would not be quite so disappointed with the most recent order...Golden State... I want to purchase your products again in the future as they save me an enormous amount of time, but if this is the kind of thing I can expect - inadequate packaging, uncertainty as to the quality of a particular batch of you products, and obviously the lackadaisical approach to quality control that seems to be occurring within your organization, then I guess I'm going to have to find a different source for my matting needs.

My daughter is a professional artist, and she always uses this brand of mats for her prints. These are not the highest quality, but they are good quality, and they are an excellent value. For her originals, she custom cuts her own mats. However, for prints, it is much more cost effective to attach prints to a nice pre-cut mat. Having the backing board and plastic wraps means that she can stack lots of prints into a couple of racks at her shows, and people can look through them without damaging them or getting them dirty. These are perfect for her needs.

I needed to mat a large number of 11x14 photos for a coming show and these Golden State Art pre-cut mats turned out to be excellent. They come with sleeves to keep them clean when potential clients shuffle through them.I took off one star because 1) one of the backings was slightly damaged, but still usable, and 2) the tight plastic wrapping around the mats and the backings was pulled perhaps a little too tight and in a few places there were very slight dents along one edge. Not a deal breaker. The box they came in (as opposed to the shipping box) is nice and secure and I can use it to carry my prints to the show, so that's a plus.One other inconsistency, and again, not a deal breaker, is that the backings are about 1/64 longer than the mats. Lining them up to split the different made this unnoticeable except by someone like myself who sees the world in increments of 1/72 of an inch from measuring type.

Color was crisp white just like promised. They shipped it beautifully! By beautifully I mean: it came in its own box inside the amazon box, then each grouping of materials (bags vs. Backings vs. Front matting) were packages seperate inside. The corners are pristine. I am highly satisfied!There is only 1 think left to do: package my art. I am curious if the bags have enough space to fit the thickness of the art and the matting. I'll update this either way, once I find out.I will be ordering from them again. In fact I ordered multiple sizes with them, this time around (8x10, 11x14, 16x20) all full sets and all were perfect upon opening them. (still have to test out the bags)I will not hesitate ordering from them again.Update: the bags are better than any I've been using this far!!

I have ordered these same mats repeatedly for my business, about 15 times so far. However, I no longer can since the supplier / manufacturer has suddenly altered the white color of the mats. They are no an off-white with a cream hue now all of a sudden! Thinking it was just a fluke, I re-ordered the mats to find the same issue again!! It completely ruins my product that requires a true, clean white mat! It is such a shame since I really relied on these WHITE mats which are now suddenly now CREAM. I am bummed and will need to find a brand new resource for my business as these are not acceptable anymore for me to use. Additionally, the clear presentation bags come crinkled and a mess many times requiring me to source those from another supplier to use with these mats. I wont miss the head ache all together! Perhaps a blessing in disguise for anyone purchasing these!

Was very happy to receive my 10 Picture Mats. Extremely well packaged, so no dents at all. Order received was beyond my expectations because in addition to the mats, they provided clear cellophane sleeves and white backing boards for framing. I ordered the white & was pleased it was a pure White with no cream/yellow undertones. Would buy from this seller again!

As a photographer, I chose this product for its convenience. The Art Pack includes almost everything I need for mounting photos for competitions. I see some people have complained about damage during shipping, but my carton arrived all the way to the Pacific Coast in fine shape. If you have time, you could put everything in this pack together for less, but hey there's always a price for convenience.
