Doesn't flow
Quite confusing to read with my little one. You think you're going to see the baby animals but actually your looking for just one set. Spots Dad should have said something like one of our animals has had babies, can you guess which one? But he just says I have some baby animals to show you. Nothing makes sense until the last page when Mum says did you see the piglets? There's a joke where a rabbit says tweet which is just confusing and then he randomly finds kittens. I also didn't like that Dad kept shouting at Spot to hurry up or get out of the pond, whilst he was trying to look.Ok, but wouldn't have bought it if I'd have seen it first.

Great ‘flip the flap’ book.
My grandson loves all of the ‘flip the flap’ books. He likes Spot, so you can have some continuity as there are a lot of Spot books. Really helps with coordination as they flip the flap to see what is underneath. Good to have a selection so you don’t go mad with reading the same story over and over again 😁

Bought for 16 month old who likes lift the flap books
My son likes the Spot the Dog books, essentially I think he enjoys lifting the flaps and not much else as he doesn’t show much interest in what’s going on in each page. This one tells the story of Spots dad taking him to see the farm animal which has given birth, so Spot goes around the farm looking for the baby animals. As I am reading it I feel kinda silly because Spot is a baby animal and it is a bit odd trying to explain to my son that he isn’t the baby animal we are looking for, but as my son doesn’t seem that interested I guess it’s not all that important!I like that it has short sentences which is good for short attention spans.

Great book for toddlers and great gift for newborns
This is one of the books we read over and over again with our children. Long before they could read they were able to give the appearance of being able to read because they could recall the words associated with every page. The lift the flap element makes this book slightly less durable than other board books but owning the book is better than borrowing from the library when half the flaps will be torn. At least if the book is your own you can use sellotape if your young one is a bit over-enthusiastic and stick the flap back. We have bought many copies of this book as it's one of several we buy when any of our friends has a baby. One of the best gifts you can give a child is a love of reading from an early age.
