80 dollars to re-arm this vest!
It is what it is. A well made blow up type life preserver. It is a little bulky around the right side of it and sometimes bothers my casting arm. It has both automatic and manual pull built into it. It says it is not make for a non-swimmer on the label so take that into account.Ok, here it is a couple of years later and a hard rain made it deploy. The kit to re-arm it is EIGHTY dollars!! The instructions say to test it every year and re-arm it every three years. For eighty bucks I can find a nice conventional vest.

Name speaks for itself
I bought this because i was afraid of the other brands deploying when wet, I left this in my boatstorage the other day and it got all wet and it never deployed thankfully. Just make sure you storeit in your house don't leave it on the boat like i did. Very light weight and comfortable to wear.

The best life vest you'll ever own.
This life vest is so comfortable to wear kayaking. I will never go back. Plus you will always wear it since it is not in the way. The only thing I wish it had was a couple of small pockets for lip balm and my phone.

Lets me wear a PFD all the time...
Sure, we have always had PFDs on the boat, and the kids always wear PFDs, but I do not enjoy a regular PFD, so I did not wear one. This Mustang PFD lets me wear one all the time in the boat, taking the grandkids fishing is such a joy to me, and If I fall in, I need to be there for them.Note: For this to be counted as a PFD on the boat, it must be worn. The PFD sitting in the boat is not counted.

IT WORKS IF YOUR UNCONSCIOUS AND FALL OVERBOARD
The description stated ”auto-activation” This actually does not auto-activate; you must manually pull the ripcord to inflate it. The feature of this PFD is to keep an unconscious persons’ head afloat, I would think auto-activation would be needed to save a life in that instance. I wanted the Md2016 and got the MD2014MY MISTAKE IT WORKS AS ADVERTISED.

Added safety over water.
In Florida we fly over a lot of water. These vests are standard equipment in our plane. Easy to don, wont inflate until commanded or auto inflated in water, easy to remove. Extremely comfortable.

Lightweight and comfortable
Working with the Corps of Engineers requires some time on the water. This lightweight version is much preferable to the bulkier life jackets. I haven't fallen (or been pushed) into the river yet so I can't comment on the auto activation but everything else is good.

Don’t die...get one.
I haven’t had to use this yet, thank God, and hopefully I never do. Comfort is great, I always use it when duck hunting over water or in the boat. The value is great as well, because your life is worth more than $150.
