I’ve had this whistle for a few months now and mine has held up to a lot of regular use. I use it once or twice a week to ref and it easily stands out with the other whistles. As for how it sounds, it travels about 100 yards fairly well and is fairly accurate to how you’d expect a trench whistle to sound.

This is the whistle to carry if you want to get someone's attention. It does not take much air to be loud, and it is very light weight. I got one tried it then I went back for another one.

Can't really tell it's nickel plated. Unless it's next to a piece of chrome.It's a whistle. It does have a bit of character.Not an exquisite whistle. I feel it's a $2 whistle, after seeing them on sale at a retail shop. (Probably 50 for $50 wholesale?). It may be a step above the mass produced cheaper variants, but you can find this type for a couple bucks.Maybe save $5 at the army surplus and you can get several different varieties of whistles. Army Surplus, is where to look first. Unless you want a $20 made in England....?You probably want a cheap one or a expensive one ...this is something in the middle. It works.
