Good hammer, bad Anvil
Hammer is the best portion of this kit. Head shape is correct for peening a scythe, and the weight of the head is good. The anvil, however, is very soft metal. The tip of the anvil is completely flat across the top, but tapered inwards like a chisel, not tapered across the striking to give it a small curve like how a scythe anvil should be shaped. You basically need to shape this anvil when it arrives in order to actually get to using it on your scythe, which is ironic, because if you're new to the scythe, you eventually learn your new scythe blade needs to be peened first in order to get the shape right. You'll need to know the shape of a proper anvil head in order to get a proper scythe shape. I suspect that's the main reason why the description says this is for advanced peen users, but every advanced user online agrees the anvil should be the hardest metal of all your tools in the peening process. Don't get this, and probably avoid the field peening set listed in their http link to an unaffiliated scythe store, as both of these have been tactically written to avoid detailing the hardness of the anvil.
