Bike Frame Protection Tape- High Impact Clear Vinyl Wrap Includes Tool (4”x72) Bicycle Frame Protector, Mountain Bike Frame Guard Chainstay Protector (Clear)

Very easy to install, looks super sharp, and hope it holds for a long time.

This stuff is way thicker than most PPF and feels much more protective for high wear areas like the downtube and chainstays. I used the clear matte, which matches the matte paint finish on my frame pretty well. Unlike thinner protection tapes you will need a heat gun or hair dryer to install this on anything other than straight tubes. This is what worked for me: cut the piece to the right shape, peel off the backing sticker and spray generously with soapy water, place the center of the tape down along the part of the frame you are installing it on, take your heat gun or hair dryer to the center of the piece so that it warms up and the edges start to droop, use the provided squeegee thing to work outwards from the center of tape both out towards the edges of the tape and up/down towards the ends. If you see a bubble immediately peel up that bit of the tape from the nearest edge, spray with some more soapy water and then work the tape back down starting from the center towards the edge while applying heat. for curves or odd shapes you will need to heat the tape up more so it can stretch a bit as you work over the shape with the squeegee, again working from the center of the tape outwards. If you find any bubbles under the tape when you are done, use your fingers to try and work the bubble over to the nearest side of the tape, if that doesn't work press it into as small a bubble as possible and then use a pin to pierce the center of it and force the air out of that hole.

WilderWild has a great product here. The tape is quality material and is quite a bit thicker than I expected for the price - a nice bonus! I’m pretty meticulous with my bikes and wanted a solid product to protect the frame of my Giant Trance from rock dings, branches, bike racks, scratches from nails, etc. After installation I can tell that this product will serve its purpose very well. It also looks sick on the bike, which was another reason for me purchasing. The wrap has definitely given my slightly older bike (2016) a more modern flare. With that said, I had to dock one star because even after watching the installation video and following it to a tee, I was still unable to remove all the air bubbles from underneath the tape. The bigger the piece, the harder this was to do. My advice would be to use a minimal amount of soapy water because almost all of the bubbles I got were due to water being trapped under the paint within the adhesive. All in all though, I would definitely buy this product again as a sweet protection + style bonus for my next future bike!

If you are one of those people that think installing your own cellphone screen protector is hard work you might as well stay away from this product. Bought the topographic and the clear glossy ones. For some reason the clear one is like 10x harder to work with! It was absolutely torture trying to get all the bubbles out… I actually didn’t manage to do so until I gave up. I figure I’m gonna let it settle for a bit and then try again cause 2hrs in I was exhausted! I was following instructions and had already installed the other one so I n ow I was doing it right (is also not my first time working with wraps) … I can’t recommend the glossy version as honestly I’m not sure it is worth the trouble. The topographical looks cool and was easier to work with so that one gets the stars… over all quality is okay, stretchability sucks, and I instalación is definitely not for the novice. … if I could return the glossy one I would, I’m not sure I would use on any other of my bikes and not sure I’ll keep on this one

This stuff takes patience, and it not easy but provides great protection!

I didn’t buy this for protection so much as decoration on my boring black bike. I installed orange 3M auto vinyl and put this pattern tape over the vinyl. It adhered very well. This product is very thick and takes a good amount of heat from a heat gun to get it to mold to the bike contours but with some patience it goes on very well. I love how it looks over the bright orange on my black bike.

The actual vinyl material itself is very thick. This is both a blessing and a curse. It means that if you get it applied and looking nice, it's very likely to last a long time, and offer solid protection. But it also means that it's very, very difficult to work with for anything but the most basic of shapes. It's very tricky to cut out the template patterns cleanly, even with very sharp/precise scissors. It's also almost impossible to get all air/soapy water bubbles out, even with previous vinyl experience (from cars), patience, generous heat application,and following their video instructions to a T.The adhesive itself is kind of a mess. Maybe I got a bad batch, but when I took the vinyl out of the package, there was adhesive coming out of the sides, like it had slightly melted. I thought "well, the edges are going to get thrown away anyway once I cut out the templates anyway" and proceeded (maybe I should've stopped there and returned...). Sure enough, once the tape is cut, the adhesive is still 'gummy', resulting in a sticky mess all over your bike at the edges of the tape when trying (and failing) to squeegee out all of the air/water. It looks pretty terrible, and I'm already dreading what's going to happen when I pull it off. I've worked with a decent amount of high quality 3M vinyls and have never seen or experienced any leaving such a gummy/sticky residue. Or any residue at all, actually.

Ça a vraiment donné un look personnalisé à mon vélo. Facile à installer en suivant les étapes du vidéo d’installation mais il faut vraiment prendre son temps.

Seguí las indicaciones del video tutorial de instalación y resultó ser muy complejo instalarlo. En el video se muestra que despegan el protector y al calentarlo vuelve a adherirse sin problema. Sin embargo al hacer esto el pegamento se hizo grumos y quedó muy mal. Terminé desperdiciando una gran parte.

Lo use como protector de cuadro de la bici y cubre muy bien es muy resistente y pega muy bien al cuadro lo suficientemente grueso y transparente, casi no se nota

I says surprisingly good because I wasn't convinced it would work that well when I realized how thick the tape is. But it worked, really well actually. A hair dryer can really help finalize the job too. Just use patience and don't give up!
