Pac-Man: Birth of an Icon

I’m really impressed with the quality of the book. Great pictures and nice write ups for all the different eras of Pac-Man over the last forty years.

I really like retro games and the history surrounding them, so this book was perfect for me and perfect for any Pac-Man or retro game fans. Lovely design and lots of cool concept art and unseen photos and imagery.

If you love not only Pac Man, but Namco and the classic video games that stood with them, this is an absolute must read. Amazing pictures in beautiful colour and awesome text to accompany.The best money I've ever spent.

An inspiring and attractive tome, stuffed with personal anecdotes and archival details exploring how the yellow guy went from rejection to revolutionising video games and product licensing. There are so many moments of chance and near failure that serve as a reminder that what we take for granted was once shockingly new. Overall a rich illustrated journey for anyone who once hoarded those 10p pieces to to feed him back in the day.

Get this if you have any love for video game art and history. Its' packed with brilliant photos and write-ups.

An iconic book in its own right. A thoroughly researched, deftly written and beautifully designed compendium. File under graphic (and character) design history and pop culture, in addition to video games.Highly recommended.
