Installation was just like any other hard drive
Got this to upgrade my 500GB drive to 2TB on a Synology DS212 NAS device. I've only had it about two weeks, but no issues with it yet. Installation was just like any other hard drive.I just bought another one of these drives (the first has been working fine for a month and half) and they sent me a clearly labeled Seagate Constellation ES 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA 3 GB/s 64 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Hard Drive - ST32000644NS  drive. I'm not complaining since the specs are pretty much the same (Seagate has 7200 RPM vs this WL 5400 spec), but the first WL drive I got had no manufacturer markings on it, just a generic WL label with some specs. I got both drives from goharddrive. My take away is that you may not get a WL drive, but it should be equivalent.[3/1/17] Update: The second drive I got failed a week ago. That wasn't even 6 months of use. So I've dropped my rating from 5 to 3 stars. The good news is that there was no problem getting a refund from goHardDrive. They e-mailed me a postage paid USPS label and I returned the drive and they issued me a refund all in under a week.

Very worn, almost dead / not the same speed as advertised
Turned up and was a 7200RPM HP drive manufactured in 2013. While I knew I would get an older drive, I had bought this expecting 5400rpm (as advertised) as was for use in an HTPC.Update 29/12: After two days of being installed is making loud clicking noises very similar to how an old HDD of mine sounded before it died. While I expected an older drive, I did also expect the company to test drives before they sold them. As it is, I have to throw out this drive essentially and buy a new one from scratch as I can't trust this to a) last b) be quiet and reliable as they were sold as. Unfortunately I bought while in the States and am now home in New Zealand so can't return - perhaps risky, but I thought it was standard to expect drives to not be so worn they're dying upon arrival.

Solid backup drive
Used as a backup drive in my media server - works like a charm. For primary drives, I would get 7200 RPM or greater - but as a backup drive it works just fine.

seems good so far
A few months in, seems good so far. But at the end of the day with a hard drive you're really looking for life span which I cannot attest to at this point.

7200 not 5400
Not 5400 RPM, they were 7200 RPM Hitachi drives and at least 1 was dead. Upgraded to 5 because of swift refund.
