Stable. Not too big. Clamping is secure. Ball socket allows for a fairly good range of universal pivoting. Fairly well made... a little chipping going on where legs contact the center base. I use it exclusively at home for daily hands-free phone viewing.

Probably the most useful accessory I've purchased for my iPhone. While smartphone features seem to continually advance, no amount of technology can replace a motionless camera when you are engaged in still photography. Photo software and filters can help camouflage motion blur but this gadget makes those gimmicks obsolete.Because it clamps onto your device you can use the mount with a variety of similar sized phones, so when you replace your existing phone with a new one, even one that's not the same size, no problem, the jaws of this mount easily open and close with little effort while providing a snug and secure fit once your phone is in place.I was classically trained with a 35mm film SLR and while I miss those days and the process it represents, I have my son to thank for nudging me away from film photography and into digital imaging. One will never replace the other but I'm glad I made the switch because nuance and versatility are now hallmarks of digital photography.This mount facilitates that nuance and versatility. It also gives you the ability to lock off your phone in a position which allows you to take multiple shots of the same subject without the shot's composition changing. That's important when you want to experiment with lighting and exposure. And it is indispensable in low light environments.All of the above is why my Square Jellyfish Cell Phone Tripod Mount remains permanently attached to my tripod.

I've purchased products from Square Jellyfish three times, once for a different tripod, and twice for this Jelly Grip WX Tripod Mount with Pro Tripod. I love the stability and ease of being able to use this tripod throughout our apartment. It seems sturdier than the smaller, flimsier one I had from them before, but be careful when you take the phone out of the holder; the clamp can pinch your finger(s). I love the convenience of being able to quickly place it in different spots. I've used it for video chats with my husband on his lunch break, my mom who is in a nursing home, my sister and niece, as well as for recording videos from my phone.We purchased one of the tripods as a gift for my sister. Her tripod broke, thanks to what we think was my two-year-old niece either throwing or knocking it off a high kitchen table. We were bummed and figured there was nothing we could do, UNTIL my husband noticed Square Jellyfish has a lifetime warranty, which they HONORED!!! I emailed them through Amazon under the 'Ask a question' option. Jim replied promptly and kindly, apologetically and professionally, making sure my sister would get a replacement!!!Despite some additional bumps in the road with my sister getting her replacement, Jim was true to his word, and ensured me if there were any problems, he would work it out, and that he did!!! Amazing. So encouraging to see a business working with excellence, honoring their policies and commitment to producing a good product, and caring about their customers. Five stars! :D

My previous phone tripod mount was bought a few years back, when options for them where pretty scarce. It was a cheap piece of plastic with a tension spring that held the phone only in landscape, was so tightly wound that the phone was hard to insert, and the plastic was so cheap it seemed like it would break if you looked it it wrong. But it was great for teaching me what I didn't want in a mounting setup!This unit is a huge improvement over my old one. Mostly metal (a little good quality plastic/rubber on the phone cradle), nicely machined, easy to use so far even with my sometimes weak or shaky hands. Unlike some reports, there's no problem attaching mine to a basic tripod screw (I'm using a small Ultrapod as a base) and it's remarkably sturdy feeling once attached, where I half expected to have at least a little wobble between the mount and tripod.It folds down fairly compactly, as opposed some of the larger and presumably sturdier mounts that cost three times as much. For light to moderate use, this is probably a better choice.The ball mount could be a bit more stable; it's not easy to tighten down fully so there's a little play in positioning the phone and keeping it where you've put it. But that's minor. It wasn't difficult to get it level in use, just a little finicky. If I'm setting up a tripod anyway, I expect to have to take a little care in this sort of tweaking to get things level, so I can accept that.Attach it to a tiny folded tripod like the Ultrapod or Square Jellyfish's own tabletop models and it's easy to turn it into a vertically held handle for more stable video!All in all, it's a well built until at an excellent price. It may not stand up to professional use, but for the rest of us, it should be a good option.

I bought this several times because it's a fair design that solves a problem for me. I use this most as a handle to hold my phone, and works great for that purpose. Durability could be better but honestly, I handle this roughly. I will continue to buy in the future.

easy to use, looks real nice, really like it

I was delighted to find this. I have the older model which doesn’t tilt, so I know I will get years out of it. Just be gentle with the phone clasp.

Sturdy and well made

Holds the camera phone well and fits neatly on my mini tripod. Excellent buy.

I seldom use my DSLR camera now. I now use my Galaxy S8+ to take pictures because of this.
