Production quality could be better
The blu ray set came really fast. The condition was almost perfect. There was a slight tear on a protecting film but the contents were totally fine. In terms of contents its quite worth it. The artbook contains brief versions of the extras released by Kyoani. There is a glimpse to the storyboards (the original includes 3 volumes but all in Japanese); character designs, which is equivalent to the official artworks etc. In terms the quality production its not so great... The cards are fine but the paper and printing quality of the artbook could be better. Plus it didnt include some sketches. Its definitely not the same somewhat luxurious feeling as the kyoani original artbooks or dvd merch in your hands. But its your best bet since funimation limited is unattainable from now on.

Absolutely Amazing
I’d like to start off by saying that my review is definitely bias. First and foremost I absolutely love this show, and I wish I could experience it for a first time again. When I saw that my package arrived I was so happy that it finally arrived and since it came in earlier than expected. But it wasn’t until I opened it open and started looking at the content’s of this collector edition that I started crying. It was absolutely surreal to have the art book and an envelope with photos inside it as if taken from someone from that world. This show warms my heart so much, and if you are as big as a fan as I am, this is definitely worth it.

Great Item!
Great Item! I loved the show and I wanted to own a physical copy, I found this and I was not disappointed!, if anyone loves the show I recommend this fully, it comes with two different Blu-ray cases with 2 discs each, one has all of the episodes and the other has extras, it also comes with an art book, some are cards, and some of the stamps used in the show. If you are debating buying this, you should! it was a great purchase, 10/10.

This Animated show is a Piece of Art
Prepare your handkerchiefs and prepare to sob. This show is a Masterpiece of Emotional Storytelling. This is not only one of my favorite Anime shows but also one of the most Beautiful Stories I've ever had the joy of watching. I've yearned for Animation to offer more Mature and often Challenging Stories like The Prince of Egypt, Cowboy Bebop, The Wind Rises (etc) and this show ticks all the right boxes for me.Everything about this show is Intangibly gorgeous. Every Frame is so articulately breath-taking, they deserve to be hung up on walls, the Visuals and Animation, in spite of being a Television show, has the quality of a high Budget Cinematic movie. It's like watching an approximately 7 hour movie (which in itself is technically an option as you can watch all the episodes simultaneously in Japanese on the second Blu-Ray package). The Music is astonishing in it's own right with how grandiose it can get. For a televised series, there are plenty of rich, orchestral harmonies that are worthy of being ranked with cinematic movies. I find myself listening to it when I'm working on some projects. Truly Inspiring work from Evan Call. The Story is bold in tackling immense themes of Loss, Love, Guilt, Redemption, War, Trauma, Hope, Compassion even towards people with cynical views and most importantly, learning to Empathize.I can't think of a single episode or character that wasted screen time. One could say at least one episode felt like filler or that the side characters didn't get enough screen time, but even then, I still believe every episode and character mattered because through them, we witness the titular character learn to relate to others and move on from her past sins. The Show is clever in having certain side characters be the main protagonist of their respective episodes so that they can stand out on their own right. The Show is structured with a serialized story in mind focusing on Violet Evergarden yet each episode could stand out on it's own with their own satisfying emotional arcs.Speaking of emotions, every feeling this show yearns to convey is portrayed as genuine. Yes, the show will get melodramatic when it wants to be (and a few lines from Leon's actor may have needed another take at the end of one episode) but I never felt like the show was pandering to me. As a matter of fact, their are some moments I think a lot of people could see coming from miles away (without spoiling anything) but certain revelations are still heart breaking for particular characters. If this show could be summarized with one emotion, it would be Bittersweet. I'm not the type of person to cry often as I'm used to many stories but let me tell you, THIS STORY MADE ME CRY!It was especially during that infamous tenth episode and the ending of episode 13 that got me. Having now watched this show a second time, the ending of episode 9 hit me a bit harder with the emotions i think due in part to my own experiences with handling the intangible, immeasurable reality of Guilt and Redemption. As for the contents of the Collector's Edition, this is where fun can emerge.I enjoyed seeing the stamps and other collectibles yet I was particularly impressed with the Art Book which not only gave you conceptual art for the show but also has an entire section dedicated to the history of the fictional location the show is set in. The History takes time to explain details that were not spoken of in the show yet add that much more immersion for anyone bothered to read it. Culture, Politics, Religion, Warfare, the history is there! The Blu-Ray makes the already gorgeous show all the more stunning and you can comfortably watch Sub or Dub.I should note that the Blu-Ray discs come with an extended episode of episode 13. I'm sorry to disappoint but it's literally the exact same episode but with the End Credit Sequence added in. It's not that the episode itself is bad, it's just very anti-climactic for someone who is used to seeing several extended cuts from Film Directors.I'm giving this Collector's Edition 4 stars because their were only a few things in the packing that were mildly disappointing. Apart from that, this is the best way to experience this show if you want a more authentic experience than it's original Netflix platform viewing. It sounds like I'm exaggerating but I honestly love how well this story is told.God bless this animated show!

a must for a fan
Two discs with the series, eps. 1 to 13. A wonderful booklet with infos about the characters, and much more. A set of picture cards. Perfect so far.But two more discs with few more than the Japanese version of eps. 1 to 13. What a shame! At least the special episode could have been included, which is not.Nonetheless a good investment for a fan of Violet EvergardenAnd absolutely not funny that amazon cancelled my first order without a notice. I had to buy from a third party for a lot more. (Which has nothing to do with the product!)

One of the greatest anime series
Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece - stunningly beautiful backgrounds and animation, and a heart-wrenching story. The series starts quite slowly for the first few episodes, but is still entertaining and I was instantly captured by the visuals - it's like having a mobile artwork in your living room! Hugely re-watchable.
