Dearly love this series
Best way to experience it : read it aloud (at night) to a 6 to 10 yr-old(s) - that way you get to do all the voices! WHEN WILL THIS MAKE IT TO THE BIG SCREEN ? -Haven't figured out who should play Wally & Cheyenne Schluffmuffin, but I picture Ken Branagh as Edgar Spydelle(clipped, can-do british accent), Ann Hathaway as Shirley Spydelle ( sweet giant spider who pines to have kids with Edgar, but doesn't want to be obliged to cannibalize her husband after conception, a la real spiders) - I give her a slight Long Island accent. The 'Onts' - Aunt Dagmar & Aunt Heddy (actually giant ants in disguise) I give a slight Danish accent; which becomes more pronounced in Dagmar as she becomes exasperated with Heddy, who's a little on the dim side.Dagmar = Jane Lynch? Hortense Jolly could be Megan Mullaly. The WereWolf pack could be James Gandolfini, Joe Mantegna, Steve Buscemi - not necessarily doing a 'Soprano's'/Goodfellas' thing, just being funny not-so- tough guys.Dad could be Paul Rudd, etc., etc., FUNNY! With subtle humor & turns of phrase that kids will get, and delight in.
