Some good, some bad
The good points - Great battery life, light in weight, fast response, 15.4" low reflection screen size, expandable memory (with a micro SD card), attractive price.Bad points - Only 3 years life left on this model before updates stop, there is no 'right click' on the trackpad despite many help sites telling you to right click (you have to tap on the pad with two fingers), the Gmail app will not import emails from other providers historically back beyond when you first fired the machine up (been all over the web and can't find an answer to this that actually works but many others have the same issue), scrolling down a page is best done with 2 fingers rather than the scroll bars which vanish, screen contrast depends on the angle of view (tip the screen back more, you get more contrast), cannot put shortcuts on the desktop.A few months later: Dropped another star. The display is either getting worse or it's just a washed out mess that's difficult to read. Very poor contrast and no way of changing it other than increasing the brightness to maximum or changing to high contrast mode which is hideous.

Great Value, Great Battery Life and Lightweight
Was keen to update my Chromebook experience and particularly liked the idea of the larger screen at 15.6 inches. Screen quality is certainly not the best in the world, but then for £250 you can't grumble too much. Battery life seems quite amazing, though the feedback in the settings box seems a bit erratic - might say 11 hours remaining at one point and then 6 hours remaining just half an hour later!Only in the first week, but it's doing all I wanted for sure - though I'm all Apple otherwise, this is a great machine for taking when you are going to be away from the office for a few days. Large, yes, but lightweight and very easy to set up. I wanted a good typing and viewing space for emails, Tweets, and notes, as well as a good browsing screen - this computer does all of that and more. Keyboard is good for typing too.Value for money at £250 is exceptional - especially if it lasts as well as my first Chromebook, which is a Samsung 10-inch model, and something like 7 or 8 years old now, still going strong, though a little slow by today's standards.

Nice machine!
I really like this Chromebook. I took the jump and replaced an old windows laptop with this Chromebook. And I'm glad I did now. It loads everything super fast and does everything I need it to do, no problem. Unlike a windows machine this doesn't need to be loaded (and bogged down) by loads of anti-spyware and anti-virus software. Compared to a windows laptop it doesn't need fans so it's thinner, slicker and the battery lasts longer and charges faster. And, because you can use apps from the playstore a lot of the software if free / cheap. I think this is probably the way forward for home computing as, let's face it, everything is and will go to cloud storage eventually. Which means machines will get lighter, faster and not need huge storage drives, fans, etc. The touchscreen is great and I'd advice anyone looking for a Chromebook to go for a touchscreen version. As the machine uses google apps (some of which were originally designed to run on android phones) a touchscreen is a definite advantage. Sure - if you're looking for a laptop to run graphic intensive games, or do video editing, anything that is really graphic intensive then this probably isn't the machine you're looking for. But, if like me, you're looking for something to do standard stuff with - surf the net, watch netflix, listen to music, write documents and emails, etc, etc. Then this is a really good option.

Simple & straight forward.
This chromebook is a change from my previous windows laptop. The bulk of the features are the same & if you're used to using google then you will pick up on the small changes quickly & easily enough. It's a nice size, runs smoothly & is perfect for someone like myself who wants a laptop for everyday browsing, shopping, checking emails etc.

A nice looking chromebook but with major issues.
Bought this in 2019. Unit is a very good chromebook, speedy and reliable. It has a big screen and quite a nice keyboard and touchpad. So fat so good. Everything works well with one exception - the display. Yes it is big and it is a touch screen but it is terrible. There is NO contrast in it at all. It is bright but it is just washed out and text is really hard to read. Viewing angles are really poor - anything other than dead straight on is a no-no. The touch aspect is poor though as well. The top edges of the screen are not response so you find yourself tapping multiple times to close tabs - then it gets confused, hesitates and closes the whole browser for you. Not good. This does not work for productivity or media consumption. This might be ok for a kid but even then they need a better screen than this for classwork or homework. I regret this purchase but I did not pay full price for it so it is not the end of the world. Don't buy this!
