Macgregor Umpire's Outside Chest Protector

I umpire 10-15 year old baseball games and decided to order this as temperatures reach 90+ degrees making double headers miserable wearing an ordinary, under the shirt protector. On the other side there are three straps to support this: one in the middle that is horizontal that you support with either hand and two more horizontal straps on both sides so that you can slide over your shoulders and your upper body will support the protector. Another plus is that there is a pouch on the bottom that will easily support and conceal at least three spare game balls; it could probably support on or two more, but I haven't tried.

The pad is heavier than I expected. I,m not going to wear it, prefer to use as a shield. I have to figure out the best way to use it with throwing or handing balls in and taking mask of. But one thing is for sure, I have to do something about the straps.Duck tape or a handle or something. Don't hate it but don't love it as much asI'd hoped I would.

Just what I expected. Very reasonable priced.

I've taken a few foul balls off it without feeling a thing. For something so obsolete it makes for a good time behind the plate. I like that there is no emblem on the outside.

Good quality and protection. Ideal for hot days or warm climates.

This works as expected. I use this for youth baseball, where the catchers may not be as good...this will stop you from getting hit by them passed balls.

I am looking for a professional Outside Protector and can't find one. Hard to tell what the size of this protector is because the details given are either wrong or misleading. For example, the size of the package that the protector comes in is irrelevant to figuring out what size the protector is. Secondly, the Item Details are absolutely wrong as far as size goes. Not even close. Does anyone know where someone can get a professional outside protector with larger diminsions (not package size) - either new or used? I used to use one but can't find one now, only small ones that will barely cover your chest, etc.

Arrived when promised, a bit heavier than anticipated but wearing this on the outside of your clothes instead of under your shirt is so much better, especially in hot weather. Great protection.
