Does it work for sodering irons too?

If your holding by three handle shouldn't be hot... However I use these to pick up my mugs after pressing them for several minutes at over 375 degrees. They are super hot and these gloves protect me... Bought two pair.

Can I use these to protect my hands when I exercise with resistance bands?

Yes you can. May not be super comfortable with the heat resistant bumps.

Are these good for baking?

i don't know. i use them to hold very hot ceramic..but it is dry heat. the black part is a woven kind of cloth material... it might allow the steam to penetrate.
