Tales of Xillia 2: Official Complete Guide

I'm not normally the strategy guide type - I like to take things as they come and figure them out on my own. Not this game, not with its hundred hidden felines, hidden affinity in dialogue choices, and dozens of different boss gimmicks. This guide has been indispensable with regards to the enjoyment I and my girlfriend have gotten out of this game. It removes all the fuss and frustration with it's clear layout, attention to detail, and high quality maps.If this guide is lacking something, it's an index and a dedicated "maps" section. If you return to an area to find something you missed, you must skip back in the guide to find the part of the main story that corresponds with the zone you're in - no other place will the map of that zone appear. If you're then looking for that spot in the book, you have to do it manually because there's no index of zones, monsters, items, or anything telling you what page to find that info on.On the presentation side of things, this is the highest quality video game guide I've ever seen. The hardcover is striking, the colors pop, and just having the guide to display is a point of pride. I'm happy to own this book!

I absolutely loved this guide. It went into very extensive detail and this made much of the brain-ache in this game very manageable. Now I will say that this game's brain-ache is the good kind but it can be very stressful when you don't fully understand the outcome of your choices. That's why I highly recommend this guide to anyone looking to play this game. The guide is organized well, it gives some really great hints, and goes into a lot of detail into how the game plays and even prepares you for end-game and meta game tactics. It also has a complete list of details of some of the artes system that cannot normally be observed by the player such as artes mastery and combo chains and the like. Once again would highly recommend this guide and the seller I bought it from delivered it much sooner than I had originally anticipated. The theme that came with it is also outstanding!

Admittedly, one of the only reasons I originally got this guide is because I thought it might become a collector's item someday. We don't always get Tales games in the USA, and we certainly don't always get beautiful thick hardbound strategy guides with bonus DLC. Well, after playing the game a bit, I began using the guide because I was too stressed about making the "wrong" decisions. I've been burned by games like this before where you try to do it yourself and just wind up with the worst ending. After all, Xillia 2 is one of those games with many different endings and a hundred different choices. While I normally do fine consulting free online guides, it would be extremely hard to follow a text-only guide for a game like this, as you're constantly having to look out for collectibles. With that being said, the guide is still probably best suited for collectors, but it is definitely one of the best strategy guides I've ever come across. The amount of information in here is staggering.

Fantastic book!! It comes in a beautiful decorated hard cover with a ton of information. This is the first Tales book I've ever seen for purchase (unless you count the books for the older games that cost a small fortune for them)This book is compartmentalized in easy to follow sections and gives warnings when it is about to show any spoilers. It has lists for the items, weapons, armor, and cats and how or when to obtain them. The maps are detailed enough to help you find certain items without crowding them up so much that the map disappears.I enjoyed reading this book even when I wasn't playing the game, and then i only used the book when I needed further clarification on a quest I will treasure this book for years to come.

It's a shame they cancelled distribution overseas and had that unexplained order delay.In spite of that, the guide is very well written and comprehensive, makes it very easy to cover almost everything in the game.In saying that, even with its huge amount of info it fails to explain a few things that, to me, are important aspects. This includes: not showing all dialogue choice options in the guide (hence getting confused as to where you are in the guide) and not explaining or listing frequency of normal job requests.Also their cat location guide is a little vague for such an important aspect.Overall still a good guide (particularity for Prima Games' dropping standards).

Excellent guide, well written and and do good advices on how you should proceed with your playthrough and plethora of information on what to do post-game.The only negative point is that the guide spoils some aspects of the history that should have been kept as a mistery because the player won't understand what's going on until the game reveals itself what is it.Another aspect is that I think is mandatory to play Xillia 1, because the game itself spoils too much the events of Xillia 1, and the game itself recommends in some way that you should be already familiar with the Tales of Xillia universe.

I love this book so much, i can play this game over and over again. this guide book helps me complete quests and tasks in this game. i feel relax and happy with this game. I hope amazon would reward me with gifts cards so i can continue to purchase more items on amazon.com.

This is a must have for a Tales of Xillia fan. Not only does it help you find everything you need in order to 100% the game, if that's your ultimate goal, but it features many extras that are hard to go without as a fan. The artwork, much like the game, is beautiful, and the advice is spot on and very useful.

A great read and guide.

Beautiful hardback book, great companion to the game as it is very detailed, helps you find things you would otherwise miss without it. Definitely a must have !

Ich habe ein Bild hochgeladen, mal schauen ob Amazon das Bild freischaltet. Jedenfalls sind bei mir ein paar wenige Seiten ordentlich verschmiert und zunächst gab es von mir dafür nur vier Sterne ... a---ber das war totaler Unsinn. Online, auf der offiziellen Seite des Herstellers gibt es einen eGude (durch den mitgelieferten Code freischaltbar) und der ist gut. Die Karten kann man vergrößern, Tabellen durchsuchen, Notizen machen, allein mit den Pfeiltasten kann man durch den eGuide blättern und scrollen, etc. etc. etc. Es ist alles einfach zu finden.Für mich ist das optimal. Ich habe zwei recht große Monitore vor mir und der eGuide ist dann auf einem Monitor und das Spiel auf dem anderen. Zock ich vor der Glotze, dann hab ich immer noch den Spieleberater in Papierform ... dann leider ohne all die schicken Funktionen :).

Ho acquistato questa guida non tanto perchè mi serviva una guida per il gioco (o meglio ho intenzione di usarla, ma solo dal new game +) ma per collezione da affiancare alla mia collector's edition che ho.Qualitivamente parlando è davvero una guida fatta come si deve, la rilegatura e la carta sono di ottima qualità e tutte le pagine sono a colori (mentre molte guide che escono da noi hanno della carta che toccata in mano sembra carta igienica).Il libro ha ben 400 pagine dove spiegano di tutto e di più, tra mostri, sidequest, storia principale ecc (addirittura ci sono pure la lista dei costumi e accessori per personalizzare il pg con annesse le immagini, compresi pure i costumi/accessori/acconciature a pagamento (gli odiatissimi dlc, che se non bastasse costano pure troppo per quello che valgono, anzi dovrebbero essere gratuite o inserite nel gioco come sbloccabili)).Piccolo plus è possibile riscattare un codice che permette l'accesso alla versione online della guida e a un dlc contenente un tema di Xillia 2 (non riscattabile con account europei ma solo americani, ma esiste il metodo per scaricarlo comunque), utile se si vuole consultare la guida senza dover per forza andare a toccare la versione fisica.L'unica nota negativa è che esiste solo in inglese (in quanto la guida proviene dall'America, e in Europa non esiste alcuna guida ufficiale per questo gioco), quindi sconsigliato alle persone che faticano con l'inglese a meno che non lo vogliano solo per collezione, e se proprio vogliamo cercare il pelo sull'uovo la guida è un po' pesante (giustificato però dalla qualità dei materiali che ho citato all'inizio).Caldamente consigliato l'acquisto, ed è ottimo da affiancare magari alla propria collector's edition se sei un collezionista.Ps. in teoria avrei voluto dare 4,5 stelle per via della mancanza dell'Italiano, ma visto che è una guida fatta per gli inglesi ho dato 5.

This guide is perfect for getting through the game multiple times, it tells you how to unlock everything and the art is just beautiful, it even has a mini art section in it. A few of the sections can be confusing as they put parts in the story guide that aren't necessary without telling you they aren't so you assume you need to go there. There's a full item and costume/DLC guide it's quite detailed and tells you where to get items/costumes. A problem I have is the PS3 theme that comes with it is the same theme that comes in the Collector's edition but it's labeled differently so I ended up activating both on my PS3 only to have two copies when I could've given the theme to someone else. Also I wish they would've included a bookmark.
