If the shoe fits..... I'm a shoe size 7 1/2 shoe and the medium worked well for me. I broke my baby toe, so I was well protected. The shoe itself as a bit on the short side for my 7 1/2 somewhat narrow foot and it wouldn't have worked if I had broken my great toe or the one next to it Them long toes!. Because of the size issue and where my injury was, I'm glad I got what I got ..If I had an overwieght foott and then swollen on top of that I would have gone to large size. The strap is easily adjustable to allow for healing and most comfortable fit.The only issue I had was in delivery. I did ask for next day delivery and next day was Saturday and postal worker forgot to drop it off so I had to wait until Monday which basically had me staying in bed for the weekweed. Not fun. I stilll gave 5 stars because it was neither Amazon's nor Darco's fault. The shoe is as advertised. Amazon did refund my overnight shipping. Amazon Prime rules. They are so kind to customers

I have had my second foot surgery because of severe and crippling arthritis in my feet. I am always unable to get a shoe on my foot for a few months after surgery and even after the Dr lets me start walking on it. This shoe has been great, as I will wear it until I can get a shoe on. It gives me fairly good support and it is adjustable. You can also wear it on either foot!

After hitting my pinkie toe on a hard object and limping around in pain for two weeks, I found out my toe was broken. There is not much you can do with a broken small toe other than tape it to the next toe and find a shoe that won't hurt your foot while you heal. This shoe worked really well and I ended up having wear it for nearly 5 weeks. The only odd thing is they make the sole thick so you have to get used to one leg being longer than the other. For some people this may cause them problems with their hips or back. I bought 2 other simpler shoes and they were also made in a similar way. The shoes were adjustable so it could fit snug on your feet. Wearing a black sock makes the shoe less noticeable and it came in really handy when I had to do a lot of walking one day. I would never have been able to do that with my foot squeezed in a regular shoe. Would purchase this item again. It's durable and reusable (although I hope I never have too, again.)

I bought this shoe as a spare to sleep in. I broke multiple toes and was given a shoe in the emergency room to wear. I wanted a clean one to sleep in. The two issues I have is that the size is off. I bought a medium which is supposed to fit up to a size 8. I normally wear a 7 1/2 shoe. In this shoe, my toes extend slightly over the end, without a sock on. I would say it is closer to size 6.5 shoe base. Normally this would just be a little attractive and look like I bought the wrong size shoe, but I was looking to keep my toes immobilized and protected. So if toes are your issue, order up. My other comment is that the shoe does not adjust around your ankle, only across your instep, so your heel will lift up as you walk. Those comments aside, the shoe is comfortable and well padded and the sole is rigid and does not bend.

There is no way any woman who wears a size 8 shoe can wear this. The sizing chart is way out of line. I wear a 7 1/2 to 8 shoe and my toes were 2 inches off the end of this. Do not buy this shoe. I had to get the large which barely fit.

This shoe has been a God-send for my broken toe. I read other reviews about it looking funny for a left foot, but it seems to be a uni-foot shoe. I find I like how the pressure of the straps help support my broken 4th toe. I can walk more easily with this shoe, and it works well with a sandal or flat shoe on my healthy foot.

This is a nice shoe at a good price. It is a flat shoe though so do not mistake it for a rocker bottom shoe.

Returning this shoe. I wear a 6.5 in women's shoes. This shoe is too big and too wide for my "dancer's fractured" foot.
