The "Elite" Tier of Instant Ramen (Teenager Approved)
If you are looking for a step up from the cheap 25-cent square packs of ramen, this is it. I started buying these as an after-school snack for my teenager, and they have become a permanent staple in our pantry. Why these stand out: The "Kuromayu" (Black Garlic Oil): This is the game changer. It comes in a little packet you add at the end. It gives the broth a deep, smoky, authentic flavor that tastes like it came from a ramen shop rather than a microwave. Actual Satiety: These are "Big Bowls" - Unlike the smaller cups, one of these actually fills up a hungry teen until dinner time. Spice Level: It’s very mild! If your kid doesn't like spicy food, they will be fine with this. It’s creamy and savory, not hot. Bulk Value: Buying the 6-pack on Amazon is usually significantly cheaper than buying individual bowls at the upscale grocery store. Level it up: If you want to make it a full meal, my teen drops a soft-boiled egg or some leftover rotisserie chicken in there. Bottom Line: It’s a bit more expensive than basic ramen, but the quality jump is massive. It’s the only instant noodle my kid actually asks for by name now.

Great taste for a good price.
Pretty fantastic for the price. On the higher end of instant noodles, which is why it justifies the price (~$2 per bowl). Wouldn't call this expensive, as it's Nongshim 'premium' variety, so it's just 'more expensive' than cheaper cup noodles. Great flavor, some of the best soup base I've had, and isn't stuffed with freeze-fried vegetables that get stuck in my teeth. I do somewhat agree that it is a very strong flavor if made per directions, but that just means you can season to taste. The included oil is a great addition. Overall a great noodle bowl with lots of potential to add your own ingredients. I also sort of agree that the 4 minute time is only recommended for soft noodles. Just a matter of dialing in your preference, just know that you might want to start with less time if you prefer noodles that aren't quite that soft.

Affordable and Delicious
Good value and good quality. Affordable for the 6 pack. At a local store near me they cost each $4.19. This brand is very similar to what I had in Japan. It comes with a seasoning packet and a packet of chili. Your choice to use or don't use chili. Easy to prepare.. add water to the line inside the bowl and microwave it. Or just add hot water , keep covered for a few minutes then stir and remove paper lid. I like to add fresh sliced veggies and sliced ham or beef to it. It's very tasty broth is delicious too. I definitely recommend!!

Not worth the cost
Good but not worth $2 per serving. The broth is good with good umami flavor, but this is not so much better than my usual Tonkotsu Ramen, by Sapporo Ichiban, which costs $1 per serving.

Bland, soft noodles
Not really sure what I expected. Bit pricey, but I figured they'd probably be worth it. I don't know if it's just me, but the noodles are so.....soft. I follow the instructions, specifically for the 'al dente' they have on the package. 3 1/2mins in a 1000W microwave. I have a 700W microwave, so I figured four minutes would be fine. Too soft. Did 3 1/2 and it was still too soft. I don't understand if there's something wrong with them or if they're just supposed to be that way, but it's quite unpleasant to eat. I prefer my noodles with a bit of texture to them, I don't like when they're soggy and soft. The flavour is also kind of....boring? It's like you're expected to put something else in there to give it more flavour. It's not a *bad* flavour, but given that it's supposed to be garlic....there's very little garlic flavour to it. Very boring, but I'm sure there are plenty of easy ways to spice it up a bit. Soy sauce, fish sauce, sriracha, garlic chili oil, etc. That said, it's still quite bland if you make it their way. Very confusing considering the flavour pack has quite a bit of seasoning in it. If you like this particular bowl noodle, more power to you. If you haven't had them or just thinking of picking them up as a curiosity, I'd probably recommend passing on them. The shipping was fine, everything came through perfectly, the actually bowl noodle itself is the part I don't much care for.
