I bought this because I needed a shorter cable for an epaulet attachment to a radio mic. The one I had before ran all the way down to the body of the radio. The new radios plug in at the epaulet mic. This is the right length. Sound is comparable to anything I had before. The connection on this isn't threaded it plugs in. I replaced the plug type earpiece with a molded one. I can't comment on longevity for now.

Works great at first, then the volume goes low and barely works.
