Great value for the price!
Got this in 2018, been using it since then and its a great lens, very solid in hand, looks great on my camera (lumix dc-g9) and takes great photos, especially landscapes and does well indoors, the aperture ring is a nice smooth ring and paired with focus peaking makes it a joy to use, one thing that sets it apart from other lenses is the ability to lock the lens hood to the front of the camera, i have lost a few of those to the watery depths, i can't say the same about the lens cap, it came off my camera on my first woodland excursion forcing me to backtrack quite a ways to find it, a minor issue though, its one of my three main lenses and comes with me on every outing, also does well with video work and no noticeable distortion unless you get very close to it and it can exaggerate some features, particularly on a persons face, but at longer distances (6' or so) you wont notice it at all, overall if you have a micro 4/3 camera this should be in your camera bag especially at this price point you won't be disappointed by it..

Feels solid
I got this for my Lumix Gx85 because I wanted a close up lens that had a manual focus. The lens that came with it was auto focus only. Not only does this lens have manual focus, but it also has an F-Stop selector ring. The focus adjustment feels smooth. The lens also has a nice weight to it.I use this lens on my camera I use as a web cam. So I have only used the lens for video, and from what I have seen the quality looks great with no distortion.I am very happy with the lens and would recommend it to someone who needed a reasonably priced close up manual focus lens.

Well built lens that I’ve been hoping for, I like it
(Bought for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 M4/3) Impressions from first step onwards; first, it’s exceptionally well packaged and protected and comes with lens cloth and nylon pouch. Unpacking the lens, it’s a good looking and largish lens, with clear glass and multicoating, and excellent manufacturing all around. Good sized rubber focus ring that turns smoothly all the way in both directions with no grind spots, it has a long throw due to it’s close focus ability. The stop ring is easy to access and large enough to turn easily, and has a good ‘Goldilocks’ factor; it turns neither too stiffly or too loosely, but right in the sweet spot. Stops go from f/2.8 (a really good and fast stop for a wide lens of this price) to f/22 with half-stop clicks all the way. Mounting/dismounting the lens is easy and smooth, it sits firmly without movement. The lens hood goes on and off easily and sits firmly (note; don’t forget to press the button on the hood’s side when mounting/removing it).The first test I always make with a new lens for this camera is with the built-in flash (upper left side location) because it’s really a snapshot-ish camera at heart. And because the lens is big even without the lens hood, it DOES block part of the light in the lower right corner of the frame, which may be concern for some. The lens hood blocks even more.I’ve only done starting tests, but so far the lens has good color reproduction and contrast. Good sharpness which as usual for most lenses really starts to shine at f/5.6. Fully open at f/2.8 not as good of course, but good enough, and the speed of f/2.8 is an acceptable trade-off. There’s no barrel distortion and no exposure vignette corner-to-corner that I could see. Of course because it’s a super-wide there is stretch distortion towards the frame edges and sharpness drop-off towards the edges as you open the aperture, but neither is extreme or unacceptable for a lens at this price-point.Overall it’s a really nice wide lens with a fast stop, something I’ve been looking for since I’ve owned this camera. The only downsides are the size and weight (which tbh are impossible to get around due to the necessary engineering requirements), and the price which I wish was maybe $30 cheaper, but to do that they’d have to build it as an f/3.5 or f/4 lens. And I like having that f/2.8, so it’s cool mon.So even though I have lots more testing of it to do, I can recommend this lens as long as you understand it’s quirks; weight, size, all-manual focus and f/stop settings. Personally I’m going to use it as my new standard lens for the Micro four-thirds - I love having a decent wide lens for it at last!

Great lens for the price
The construction quality of the lens feels solid and metallic. It has very good optics and works very well in low light. Adjust the iris and the focus feels firm.I am using it with my BMPCC4K and it works perfectly. The quality of the lens is excellent.

Great for Wide-Angle Video Recording
Our non-profit organization does a weekly electronic newsletter and often record short videos for use in the newsletter. We have an office/studio that we've set up. Due to it being a smaller space, the wide-angle lens allows for much more flexibility in our recording capabilities.

A superior lens in all aspects!
I am very impressed with this lens. I have used it for various purposes and it has yet to disappoint. The Meike 12mm f/2.8 is perfect for me when I am shooting weddings, interviews, events, landscapes, and many more. It has great low light performance and perfect for establishing perspective shots! Overall a very sharp and effective manual focus lens for my Panasonic LUMIX GH5
