This is simply an awesome shovel, blasting through interbedded snow and ice that destroyed two supposedly high-strength and relatively expensive plastic shovels.It’s the ‘57 Chevy of snow shovels, harking back to when American designers matched functional elegance with strength, durability, and heft.It does weigh about 7-1/2 pounds, but presumably you’re looking at steel shovels for a reason. If not, just know that a tool’s weight and momentum can be used to your advantage. Used right, you’ll be less sore the next day than if you tried to power a lightweight shovel through difficult snow. And, if used frequently, you’ll notice more glances from the ladies!(And no, I don’t work for A. M. Leonard!)

Very sturdy shovel, just like the coal shovel I used as a kid to actually shovel coal.

Bought this for shoveling snow. It's a bit heavy but I don't expect it will fall apart like all the plastic crap that's out there.

I don’t usually write a review with at least trying it a for about a week but I just want to express how happy I was with how quickly and smoothly this was delivered. It came not 1 or 2, but 4 days earlier than scheduled! Multiplied by the fact I live in Chicago and all this snow. I don’t think this was made for shoveling snow but maaaan does it work and it’s lightweight and just the right size for my car. Thanks again
