BELLMX-9 Adventure MIPS Dirt Helmet

Tough to beat
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this with, I tried on 4-5 of the top rated helmets side by side with the Bell MX9 Adv, including the Klim Krios Pro, Shoei Hornet X2, and Arai XD4. The Arai and Klim were the first to go, due to their overall fit and function along with the price tag. Hard to justify 2-3x the cost of the bell when they aren’t even as comfortable out of the box.I quickly narrowed it down to the Shoei Hornet X2 and the Bell MX9. They fit very similarly, with the Shoei edging it out with its overall craftsmanship and quality. It truly is a work of art - but it also exceeded my needs for a dual sport helmet. For twice the cost, I made the tough decision to send it back. The bell shared so many features in terms of fit, comfort, and safety that based on craftsmanship alone, it was tough to spend the extra money. I don’t do a lot of road miles except to connect trails, and get from a to b. If I did longer highway miles, I definitely would have gone with the SNELL rated Shoei. However, the MIPS system is a great feature, and the MX9 is comfortable on the road and on the trail.I really appreciate the adaptability of a comms system like my Cardo Black. The cheek pads have integrated pouches for the headphone pieces, while the breath box leaves ample room for the microphone. The lining is super plush and comfortable, and proves to be a bit warm on longer rides, but cracking the shield every now and then helps dump the heat. The ventilation is good, albeit not as good as the other 3 helmets I listed above. The visor does catch a draft, but every helmet with a visor will. On trips where I’m spending minimal amounts of time on pavement I have a full MX helmet on, so I’m used to this and it doesn’t bother me.Overall this helmet is the best bang for the buck you can find. The additional face shields available are a great bonus. I have both the gold iridium (pictured) and dark smoke. Would suggest without hesitation to anybody looking for a solid dual sport helmet that checks all the boxes.

Fit, Comfort, Value and more
I wanted the Dalton version with White and Hi-Viz and I couldn't find it anywhere else in Medium. I have an O'Neal Dirt bike helmet (Medium) and wanted an Adv version so that I can use a visor instead of goggles on some rides. I'm very happy with this helmet as it fits well, its comfortable and comes at a decent price. The other Shoei helmets (full face/modular) I wear are size Small. My first Bell helmet and it says comes with a 5 year warranty. I was able to use the sticky mount with a 90° extender for my GoPro instead of a chin mount, I'm thinking about tethering it to the peak. My Cardo Packtalk Bold also fits using the friction mount.

Major Upgrade in Safety
No picture needed. It is a pristine as the picture. Here ya GO!I like the MIPS. The helmet fits very well, true to size from the many helmets I have had over the years. Measure your head. Unlike an ego, it is actually smaller than you believe. The helmet itself has great field of vision. Both flip down visors are crystal clear, optical quality, and the tinted is almost enough to keep my regular glasses from tinting in full sun. I would not recommend at night, but you be you.Padding is snug and comfortable. Replaceable cheek pads in multiple sizes are available for a custom fit. There is a bit of road noise. Using it on the slab is not ideal, but it works. Riding a motorcycle is just what it is, and without a little noise, then you are just VR on the couch.I believe most of the wind noise is due to the cooling channels. On that, it is 114 real feel today. My Jacket and body are hotter than my head. I believe Bell did a great job in the design, fit and finish.Safety is the priority. This helmet is many levels above two others used for this type of riding. I will not give names in order to remain uncensored by the big box boys.Adventure is exactly that.Protect your head and NECK. Ribs and Arms are up to you.

Great Helmet
Go to bells website and use their sizing chart, if you do that you will have a perfect fitting helmet! Love it. Super comfortable and very nicely designed! I didn’t even know it had an air vent on the front that you could open and close! But I was under the impression that it came with two lenses and I only received a clear lense.

Great helmet, good construction and fits well
I bought this helmet for ATV riding and snow plowing. Riding, in general, the helmet is great. It fits very well and is true to size. Unfortunately, the cold weather kit for this size (L) is unavailable, and the visor fogs and freezes while I'm plowing. Comfort-wise, this helmet is perfect, and I have worn it for up to 6 hours at a stretch with no problems other than the stated visor issue. I recently bought a Castle X helmet with a heated visor for snow plowing since Bell doesn't make a heated visor for this helmet.
