Works great on a wreath hook. I use it outside my door when I am having meetings inside my office. It blocks the inside conversations from the outside.

I love this sound machine. Most used sounds are rain and white noise. Helps my baby relax and go to sleep. I also love that when you have batteries in there, you can just unplug the cord from the machine and it stays on. Nice for when I leave the room and rock the baby somewhere else, so I don’t have to bend and plug it back in, I can just grab it and take it wherever I need to go. Also helpful to bring in the car. The summer night sound has been useful when baby isn’t sleepy, just fussy, he finds the sounds interesting and calms down.

I love that when I'm on grandmother sleepover babysitting duty, I can sleep as well as I can at home, thanks to this marvelously portable white noise machine!

I actually got my first unit replaced because I was too dumb to figure out how to turn it on. (Either the product instructions were missing or my kid managed to throw them out before I saw them.) Anyway, you have to hold the power button on for several seconds before anything happens.Once that's done, it's a decent enough sound machine. (And yes, since this is intended to be a portable travel unit, the long push to turn on actually makes a lot of sense since you don't need it playing in your suitcase. It just wasn't obvious.)My biggest complaint is the auto-off option. You have the choice of a 15, 30, or 45 minute timer, or simply on all night. Since we got this to help our kids fall asleep, we don't want it on all night - the batteries won't last that way - but they also don't always fall asleep inside of 45 minutes. Having a noise suddenly stop when you're half asleep can be nearly as startling as having one start. Options like 30, 60, and 120 minutes would have made me much happier.

This is an excellent sound machine by Homedics. I found that it was powerful and worked well for any room. It is not electric it does not have a cord. It only operates on batteries. I highly recommend.

This is a nice sound machine. It has great sound. The buttons are a good size. Most other sound machines have ridiculously small buttons. It also has good variety of sounds. I liked this machine so much, I ordered another one for the other bedroom.

So glad I'm not crazy. I read other reviews looking for what I had heard in the white noise: a strange rhythmic electronic chime, repeating several notes over and over again. I might've kept the machine if not for this. But the bright blue light was annoying too, even if some tape would've fixed it. It's just ironic that they'd design it that way.
